Pretty pastel colors reflect in a lake at sunset in Colorado. Taken at Harvey Gap State Park, near Silt, Colorado.
This was my last chance to get sunrise at low tide since we are moving away next week.
It was not a great sunrise, there was that thick band of clouds above the Bay of Fundy, so few colors for few seconds, nothing exiting.
Funny effect when combining the reflected light from the sea, an airplane and a polfilter. Add the strait of gibralta in the backgorund, and that's the output.

Beyond a small subalpine pond, dark forest rises into rocky terrain, Eastern Sierra Nevada.
The main fall color show in the Eastern Sierra Nevada (and in other higher portions of the range) comes from the early October aspen color. But this most certainly is not the only Sierra Nevada Fall color. I always mark the start of the color season by the corn lilies taking on yellow and brown hues, and not long after that the bilberry plants turn areas (often around lakes) deep red in just the right light. Willows are some of the first plants to get real yellow leaves. Grasses shift from green to yellow to brown.
Most of the autumn colors in this photograph are a bit more subtle than the brilliant aspen colors. The beds of grasses are well along on that transition from green through yellow to tan and brown. A few small plants along the base of the rocks are showing yellow. And beyond that, the overall sense of the scene was one of end-of-season quiet and stillness. There were fewer people than usual up in this area due to fires and pandemic, and as I continued photographing into the dusk hours I was almost the only person left here when I arrived, and by the time I finished I had the silences of this scene to myself.

Northern lakes are often foggy on summer mornings. On this particular morning, the mist was just beginning to break up as the sun rose and lit the tree trunks. A patch of water reflected the blue sky above. After taking this photo, I used post-processing programs to convert the image to digital art which I thought captured the beauty and peacefulness of the scene even better than the original.
The mirage appeared in the puddle.
Like a vision through a keyhole.
A ghostly and unreal city
A haunted wonderland through the looking glass.
Un mirage est apparu dans la flaque
Fantômatique vision comme une claque
Entrevue à travers un trou de serrure
Une cité antédéluvienne et irréelle
Comme un pays émerveillé et hanté
Crevant la surface du miroir...

We made a last minute trip to Bosham at the weekend to catch the sunset and weren't disappointed as there were some good late afternoon clouds to capture.

www.silentgphotography.com - This shot and several more from my CO trip now for sale!
I won't say this is a great shot by any stretch, but this frame, these conditions and the black and white conversion were all what I'd been envisioning since I started getting so obsessed with long exposures, and it's the one shot I absolutely had to get on my trip. We sped down Maroon Creek Road hoping the clouds would stay around, and anxiously packed the ridiculous amount of gear in our bags as we watched them cruise by overhead. Probably the most exciting moment I can remember with photography: that moment when we did a "dummy check" making sure we had all the gear packed, and finally getting to say, "Let's go!" A mad dash to the popular spot to shoot the Bells. The first several minute exposure popped up on my screen. The biggest smile I can make. Anxiety gone. Time to sit back, watch the sunset show and press a button every 8-10 minutes.
