The center of the milky way over Lake Ontario with Amherst Island along the horizon.

I got out for a walk between rain storms today to try to see if I could get some relfection shots. Instead I got stuck on the abandoned train tracks taking pictures of fallen leaves.

That only lasts an hour

So I decide to resgister for a 2 morning photography workshop. It was for learning some basic tricks and getting to know the capabilities of your DSLR camera. Since I've only had it since last November I thought it would be helpful. Had my first class last Saturday morning (next class this Saturday) and we learned about apeture (as well at other things) and what it's used for, etc. This is my knowledge put to use... I think it turned out alright... tried using the highest setting to capture all of the scenery...

One of my favorite places to visit Lake Tahoe, NV. On this particular morning I woke up for sunrise but was too late. As I was driving on HWY 28 I saw the light blow-up, instead of running around like a FREAK trying to find a comp I pulled over and enjoyed it.

On my way back I noticed this spot and how the water was nice and calm. Going back to Lake Tahoe next month so I processed and printed this for a family member who lives here. I know this particular image is a bit busy but wanted to post it anyway. Hope you all have a great week. Thanks for your constant support and visits. Jave

Il mondo in cui vive, per quanto bello, non è che un leggerissimo riflesso della immensa realtà momentanea invisibile, spirituale, splendente, che lo attraversa, lo avvolge, lo aspetta.

This was my third visit to Mount Rainier, but the first time that I actually got to see a clear view of the mountain.

Lights of the Boston Financial District at night after sunset

This photo of the Sauble Beach sunset was taken yesterday. We were heading back from Southampton and stopped at the beach to see the sky. It was amazing! There were about 5 other cars parked on the beach as well. It’s hard to believe this photo was taken in DECEMBER! We were expecting snow and winter wonderland photos but this was a beautiful surprise!

I regularly drive over the Sacharov bridge to cross the river Rhine near Arnhem, but last week I saw the high water level and the reflections and decided to make a Panorama of the Skyline of Arnhem. However, it was not so easy as I thought it would be. First the composition was difficult due to all the cranes in the small harbour. Actually, it made it easy as only one composition was possible :-). The most difficult part was the sharpness as a lot of traffic crossed the bridge generating small vibrations and wind. Luckily I still managed to get a (sharp) picture that I had in my mind!

Have you ever wished that you did things differently while standing in the field. When you get back to the house and you are reviewing your pictures, the ones you thought you got, and nothing seems to be just right. This was a glorious sunset that last a very long time. The conditions were challenging with high contrast and winds, however despite those things I was just to overcome by the scene to focus on the photos and the composition. Could have been great.

And a duck in the reflecting pool..

I love photographing all the different cloud shapes here ..always gives me good relfections !
