HFF and a good start into the weekend....,-)

"The revelation that we have everything we need in life to make us happy but simply lack the conscious awareness to appreciate it can be as refreshing as lemonade on a hot afternoon. Or it can be as startling as cold water being thrown in our face. How many of us go through our days parched and empty, thirsting after happiness, when we’re really standing knee-deep in the river of abundance?"

Lilly flower blooms with fresh Yorkshire raindrops 😎👍™️

One of 16 river crossings on a hike up Escalante River canyon, near Escalante, Utah. We hiked over 3 miles upriver, having to cross the river 8 times. Fortunately the deepest crossing was knee-high, the current was relatively easy to manage, and the water was warm(ish).

Escalante Grand Staircase area is fascinating. The area is huge, with so much to explore. The most eye-opening aspect is the size of the area, the remoteness. Plus the fact that all the good places are about a million miles down a remote bumpy, dusty, washboard-road. Needless to say we did not see enough, experience enough, but we did learn a lot for next time.

Demorei muito pra conseguir esta imagem. Muitas tentativas. Ta cheia de detalhes. Veja grande. Vale a pena.

Cold water with the addition of slices of lemon and cucumber is so refreshing on a lovely warm day!

The Fairy Pools below Waterpipe Gully on Sgurr an Fheadain in the Cuillin on the Isle of Skye, Scotland. After a couple of days on the mountains, it was a refreshing change to have a much more simple and easy walk up to this lovely location for a spot of photography.

A little, pleasant and refreshing creek coming down Boulder Mountain. It traverses a small canyon, hidden deep and of difficult access in the Capitol Reef National Park. I tried to visit it again in winter to photograph it with snow and ice, but had no luck as the ‘road’ was impassible.

A lovely crystal bowl, of sweet & juicy Tangerines, enjoyed at my Mom's house!

The first time I had a margarita in Mexico, it came with the glass rimmed with a mixture of salt and chili pepper. The chili adds a nice touch of heat to the drink.

-19 degrees Celcius today. I decided to walk Komsa to see the sun and the colours. Cold but beautiful. It has been snowing for days. It was not possible to walk up there without snow shoes yesterday. Someone made a nice path for me to walk

one of Zambales‘ waterfalls

After being confined to the office for an entire week I finally managed to go out for a wee stroll.

Spending a few hours roaming the countryside with my dog Bert in fresh air and lovely sunshine does cheer me up quite a bit....

Captured for Macro Mondays theme: cold. HMM everyone!

After two weeks of poor air quality around us from the smoke of two large wildfires, the wind shifted and our air quality improved greatly today. I had to get out, so I headed for one of my favorite places on the Continental Divide to breathe in the fresh, cool, rarefied air near 12,000 feet. It was 83 degrees at our house at 8710 feet and 58 degrees on The Divide.

This is the bottom third of Multnomah Falls... the bit you see at the top is a hint of the huge falls above this one!

A slice of refreshing water for this continued heat wave we're experiencing.

Hottest June by a lot in the Pacific Northwest.

Hottest year ever so far as well. And we just entered the 2 months where we normally get some heat, rarely this hot though. Wildfires already run amok. Crazy weather.

Hope the weather is better where you are.

Enjoy a cool Thursday.

The center fountain in the Central Park Conservatory Garden.

www.centralparknyc.org/locations/conservatory-garden. It had been shut off for about a year while the this part of the park went under renovation. I think the fountain got new piping. I happened to be passing by as they were turning it on after the renovation. Later in the day it was shut off again only to be turned on a few days later for the "reopening" of the garden.

As for many places around the coast areas of Iceland, most of them around the cliffs, there are always the gulls around.
