I just love summer!!! This morning we enjoyed a leisurely breakfast on our balcony, I can smell the sweet scent of the ocean! Summer is here (it's officially still Spring but hey... I think we'll have 6 months of sunshine coming YAY!!!). Pure bliss living just 10 minutes walk to the beach!

Ok this is our salad at lunch time. No need to complicate things, just serve anything fresh and add salt & pepper!!

Hmmmmmmmmmmmm enjoy!

"Of all our resources, water is one of the most precious. Where it is available, civilization may flourish; when water disappears, vast cities, businesses, and cultures are doomed...

St Dominic was a dispenser of the waters of wisdom. "Where shall wisdom be found? Whence comes it?" The question "What is wisdom?" is one that has challenged great minds in every age, and we can learn from them something of the nature of wisdom and St Dominic.

There is more to human living that food and drink; "Man does not live by bread alone," as Christ once said...

It may be safely assumed that St Dominic did not know much about the natural sciences; in those days, few people did, and what they knew was elementary. The hour of natural science had not yet struck. But Dominic was outstanding in the other two departments of wisdom: He was a sound, clear-headed theologian, and at the same time sensitive and docile to the Holy Spirit... How refreshing to see a saint like Dominic, a man marked by breadth of vision and by a total lack of narrow-mindedness. How heartening to see his calm acceptance and evaluation of facts, and his judicious, far-sighted adaptation of them, always keeping his goal in view. One does not picture him as a prisoner of the immediate present, although he lived in it; nor as a man harried and worried by a sea of complications and details. Decision, clarity, effectiveness attended him. Looking back, we can see that his solution was so perfect that it betrays something of the divine wisdom that inspired it. Dominic was a wise, wise man."

– Fr Richard Murphy OP.

Detail from the fresco of St Dominic reading in one of the cells of San Marco, Florence. It was painted by Blessed Fra Angelico in the 1430s.

Climb the mountains and get their good tidings. Nature's peace will flow into you as sunshine flows into trees. The winds will blow their own freshness into you, and the storms their energy, while cares will drop off like autumn leaves. ~John Muir

Green is always the color impossible for me to say No to. Yes, it is one of my favorite colors besides the color purple.

As I was walking on my high heel funky shoes today on the most busy street in this tropical island country called Singapore. I was walking and thinking at the same time.

I was wondering and thinking what will be the solution for my recent and long time issue which has been bothering me for quite a while. It must be quite a scene if anyone ever paying attention on me. Looking at this lady has a short and tight dress with a light green hand knitting V shape blouse on top and walking with this black and funky high heel shoes. Under shining sun and blue sky on Orchard road.

I was thinking what is the meaningful life that I really want. And how can I make it happen without dragging me into the same old cycle over and over again. I guess no one can really help me if I don't help myself.

Life is always full of ups and downs. No one is perfect and every one makes mistakes here and there. I guess it must be a reason to make me stop on the road side by Orchard road and low down my body and took this shot as I wanted to take a macro shot. There was one or two people passing by me and turned their head back and looked at me. I thought it was quite funny that they do that.

So green and the simple lines. Do these two combination mean anything to me? I don't know yet and maybe I will get it later and maybe not. But it doesn't really matter. One thing I did get out from this shot is to go forward straight with refreshing mind to face whatever is in front of me. Time to make change and take charge, girl!

Was playing with some lights and an aquarium full of water last night. If you decide to do something like this, it's a lot of fun. Just be sure to have some music or something nearby as it can get a bit lonely in your garage dropping fruit into a bowl of water.

The last sequence of the night was a can of Miller Lite. Care to guess what happened after this image was done? You guessed it! Down the hatch :)

I made this into a one-shot HDR using two copies of the same image in post. The blue paint on the can looked great in the studio strobes. If you decide to do this, check out Clint's tutorial first and then give some thoughts to fun colors / shapes. Cans of pop / beer look nice.

I had a nice conversation with the driver. After i explained that i was taking a photo because I liked the picture, he asked what i liked about it. After I said that i liked the bright colors and the orange with a straw in it, he encouraged me to take all the pictures i wanted.

Here is a shot that I took in Uvas Canyon. This place is very shady and mossy with lots of fungus everywhere. For some reason this place felt very refreshing. Flopper and I had a good time photographing many different things Uvas had to offer.

This photo was taken in the morning on Jan 10 of 2013.

Water Lily or lotus are always my favorite. It just impossible to resist the pure and beauty of this flower can present it to you.

The rain drops left over from last night are still visible evidence everywhere on the petals.

So refreshing and pretty!

Just something refreshing to look at, and cola to drink.

These hosta blossoms are almost finished now, but a week ago or so, they were lovely, especially after a big rainstorm.

I'm not exactly sure why this upward angle was so appealing to me against the cloudy sky. All I know is 143 shots later I finally stopped. I normally take macro shots of all the rusty nails on this pole. It was a refreshing change to look up. These are my favorites of that memorable day.

my monday loves - refreshing colours - ocean blues with a dash of spring green, fine art and textiles, inspiring St. Ives artist Noel Betowski, soft drawn threads, eco dyed fabrics, mixed media collages, prints, printing, ceramics, paintings, St. Ives, the seaside and raindrops ...

That was the point of this trip out west, and no place does that for me like this part of the country. Even on a cloudy day the colors up here are amazing. Soon the slopes behind me and this beautiful park will be covered in snow.

I find myself stashing the colorful images of this trip to Colorado away in my mind, somewhat like squirrels gather acorns, to get through the long monochromatic Winter that inevitably lies ahead.
