Mirror images of the Royal Albert Dock seen due to reflections in the very still dock waters. Shots taken around the Pier Head during the latest visit of the cruise ship to the city of Liverpool.

just another reflection shot during sunset captured at Lake McCullom earlier this week...have a great weekend guys...

So what happens when you bring a 6 year old to a parking lot with HUGE puddles? Well you don't get your reflection shots that you would have hoped for!!! This was really just a test shot and that's about all I got in before there where ripples everywhere!! I wasn't all that disappointing though.. she had fun!! I knew it would be difficult and wasn't expecting to get what I wanted to get done. The most important part of all of this was that I took a picture today.. Besides.. I spent enough time on 128... I am tired!!! :-)

The G1's tilt and swivel screen is great for these sort of low level reflection shots. I do get some strange looks - and muddy knees - holding my camera just inches above the water! The edge of the Lily Pool Terrace and the incoming cloud gives this shot an almost surreal look.

Another view from the same spot in the comment below.

Another reflection shot taken during my recent trip to London. I like the two opposing curves in this shot.

Super busy at the moment, will catch up as soon as I can.

A reflection shot of the side of Bath college, taken during a lovely sunny day a few weeks ago. So many angles going on in this shot.

Shortcut through an alley with the kids. Got a reflection shot of the melted snow.

The driver walking up the platform making his way to his loco, Its actually my son and I saw him walking up and decided to do a reflection shot

just another granite reflection shot of the city skyline as captured from the South Loop...used the granite benches around the Adler planetarium as my reflective surface, comped the shot and triggered the time delay for the long exposure capture...i really liked how the movements of the clouds came out in this frame...looks so much better if you View On Black

I was looking through my new cookery book deciding what to make when I got distracted and had a photoshoot with two spoons :o)

This one is inspired by many different 'spoon reflection' shots I've seen on Flickr. It's been done many times in many variations but I had to try my own. Will probably do a few more!

One of the shots that provided the inspiration is here

This beautiful red barn is one of my favorites to photograph. From the side to the left of this picture, there was a little trickling stream - they just dug a little pond between the barn and the road. I should be able to get some reflection shots in the spring once things thaw out.

All summer there was a covered wagon sitting just outside the doors on this side of the barn. I had hoped to get permission to go on their property to get a good angle for a photo but time just got away from me. It is just up the road from where my daughter lives.

I got to the middle lake and was hoping for calm weather for some reflection shots but sadly not, but it is such a nice place to be, this was the beginning of my day i then decided to climb wind ridge on what can only be described as a very windy day.

Been a while since I did a reflection shot, so processed this shot today from one of my walks around the city

This is one of the fields flooded for the cranberry harvest. All the berries are on their way to becoming turkey condiment, but the temporary lakes create some beautiful reflection shots...

Three rose stems in water in a three sided glass vase. Other stems are reflections.

Shot with Profoto 600 overhead and to camera left. Metered with Sekonic 358 but underexposed by two stops. Image cropped in post.

It's been a while since I have posted a Danbo photo. I think I got a little too caught up in doing the time-lapse photos/videos as I haven't even taken a Danbo photo in a while.

I've also been taking a little bit of a self imposed break from Flickr over the last couple of weeks. It was fun posting a photo on an almost daily basis along with seeing everyone's photos and trying to make sure I commented on everyone's photos but after going on a little weekend vacataion I realized how nice it was to get away from the computer screen. :-) My apologies to those photos I have missed out on but I'm trying to catch up!

This one was taken way back in January of this year after we had some rain come through the area. Ed Brice and I were out capturing some reflection shots in downtown Phoenix and I happened to also capture some Danbo photos at the time as well.

Beautiful morning light hits Longs Peak, Glacier Gorge, and the peaks of Rocky Mountain National Park. This image was taken from Bear Lake near the town of Estes Park, Colorado - right before some breezy weather blew in and ruined the reflection.

As I've been pursuing my goal of an "ultimate sunrise reflection shot" from Bear Lake this summer, this was the closest I've seen in some time. Unfortunately I didn't quite get the clouds lighting up like I was hoping so I'll keep trying a little longer... But boy the peaks sure looked pretty!

In terms of post-processing, I made this image by combining 5 bracketed exposures using Photomatix Pro - but it's not an HDR. I used a process called "Exposure Fusion". It's like an HDR, but looks more natural and avoids many of the artifacts commonly found with one. I hope you like the results.

The surface of the cartwash pond was so dark and still today I could not resist taking a reflection shot (or as followers of my photostream will know it "yet another cartwash reflection shot"). Mustn't grumble, I am lucky to have views like this at work.

Now I have posted it up, I wish I had cropped out that little bit of green at the bottom (this is as framed in camera), but now it's uploaded, the green can stay.

Here's my Edaville-after-dark reflection shot, featuring Edaville #11 and her train, circling the little pond at the south end of the park. The "Seasons Greetings" sign in front of the train has been a fixture at the Christmas Festival of Lights for decades.

We couldn’t believe how calm and glassy the lake was. It allowed for spectacular mirror-like reflection shots, including ones that are strangely abstract like this one. A once-in-a-lifetime photo opportunity!

While the Utah crew waited for the dispatcher to line them up so they can continue east back to Martin, it gave me time to reflect on my day of chasing and to set up one of my last shots which just happened to be a nice reflection shot. After a decent wait the crew got the signal and notch's the power out and smokes it up as they quickly get to track speed with only two cars.

Finally, I have made my 1st visit to Chiang Mai, Thailand and photographed the Lantern activities at Wat Pan Tao held on 24th Nov, 2015

NOT a posed shot !!! .... was looking to capture some reflection shots but I was already too late as the lanterns were all too high and their reflections were already too small then I saw this monk with headphones observing the lanterns being released.

I was fortunate to get a reasonably in focus capture at 1/10s (I just shot first with whatever lens n shutter speed I was set to) as the monk saw me and started moving away moments later.

In this shot, u can also see the fallen (extinguished) lanterns in the water.

Hassall Green Top Lock 57 was a well known spot for locals and visitors alike. There was a Chandlers, Restaurant and General Store-come-Post Office. There was also a Pub, The Romping Donkey, only a 5 minute walk away.

Unfortunately they were all closed before I moved to the area in the Spring of 2013. All the buildings have been converted to private dwellings with The Romping Donkey looking nothing like a 16th Century Coach House from the towpath.

I was hoping for some Narrowboat reflection shots here but the canal is freezing over and ruined that idea.

Taken from between Lock 64 & Lock 55 on the Trent & Mersey Canal, Sandbach, Cheshire.

A bit of a rainy walk in Montreal let me capture this reflections shot by the Port of Old Montreal.

Nice reflection shot of a Snowy Egret at the St. Louis Zoo. Not as large as the Giant Egret but still a beauty to observe.

"Do not praise the day before sunset"

Yesterday was a amazing day. Beautiful sunlight and the weather was not that cold, so it was easy to walk around. I love the reflection shots, especially during sunsets. Took this in the parking of Rhodes.

San Francisco 4th of July

I originally planned on shooting the fireworks on the hill behind the Golden Gate bridge, which would have been amazing. However I decided I wanted to find a spot that no one has ever photographed the fireworks from. While exploring Treasure Island, I found a hidden spot that I dare any of you to go and find. If you make it to this spot, the CCTV will mark the spot. I planned on posting this last night but this photo took me 5 hours to edit and stitch together due to the variation in light, but Happy 4th of July everyone! Off to Yosemite for a few days!

This is 5 6 second firework photos, stacked on top of a twenty 30 second 18mm stitched image.

Beautiful reflection shot of Wyche Pavilion and TD Bank Amphitheater in downtown Greenville, SC. Camera was set on railing of the bridge that crosses the water and set at f3.5 ISO100 for 10 seconds.

This was shot on the San Joaquin River below the Jack Ass Meadow Campground. There used to be a beaver dam at this location and the water slows down and gets deeper in the location. Before I went fishing here, I saw that there was no wind and perfect conditions for a reflection shot. After taking the shot, I went fishing and caught a dozen rainbow trout. Not a bad morning.

Lots of window/reflection shots to upload! Hope you'll like! :)

I have made a reflection shot this week, but then I tried this. I have seen a poster for a games of thron movie and liked the style and had to play with Kurt. And now this shot kicked my reflection shot away :-)

If you like you can see it in my missed album.

Now why can't I get a pretty reflection shot when there is no dead headless body floating in the creek? Sometimes it's about documentation of behavior and for science rather than glamour shots.

Along with the stunning winter looks, Rain and I took a few moments to grab a warm beverage at a local coffee shop and made use of the lovely atmosphere and light from the big windows looking out onto the street. I especially love the reflection shots - hard to get focus and balance the subject and reflection but we got a couple shots that turned out amazing. All shot with natural/ambient light. More to come

Always grab the chance when the water is still to get reflection shots.

There's plenty more scope for interesting reflection shots in the reflective exterior of Grand Central so I hope to return at some point later this year to take some more.

Hopefully their attitude towards people taking photos inside will be more enlightened by then.......

I spent ages trying to get the perfect reflection shot, happy with the result

Leaving the box I was trying to get some reflection shots of the building in the background when suddenly this man arrived on his bike.

This last shot was as the grebe was at the mouth of the creek about to enter the bay. Less vegetation and more open sky with bright sunshine which was starting to turn the grebe and water golden. The bird dived after this and the moment was over. I really love the 3 reflection shots I ended up with.

a reflection shot of the millions of Blackhawks fans that descended upon Grant Park to attend the victory rally last friday...

taken accidentally eight years ago on Granville Street. They wandered into the frame while I was composing a window reflection shot, didn't like it then but now it seems like a glimpse into their unfocused future.

Another one with the sleepy geese in it. The sheltered water they chose to sleep next to made for good city-at-night-reflection shots.

Saw this store window in Landsberg/Lech, Bavaria, Germany and thought, this is a nice idea and a nice motive with this shadows, highlights and the reflections. Shot with Hassy 500CM, 80mm Planar on HP5+, developed with Rodinal 1+50 11 min @ 20°C

Zandvoort, The Netherlands

I’ve not seen too many reflection shots of Red Foxes, so I thought I’d post this one that I found in my Netherlands folder today.

Thanks to all who take the time to comment or mark as a favourite, it is much appreciated.

It's just a simple distant reflection shot of female Red-Winged Blackbird touching her wings to the water. Sort of a nice capture...nothing Pulitzer about it.

Can you figure this one out? Like my other reflection shots, no Photoshop manipulation other than contrast balance and a little sharpening.
