Another photo of some of the glorious crepuscular rays seen highlighting the Upper Derwent Valley a few weeks ago.
Approaching high tide with a reasonable swell, combined with strong rays of sunshine. What more could you want!

This looked good in the sky. The sun was still quite high, but it only started to work when I reduced the exposure.
Any suggestions for emphasisizing the rays more?
this sunset was taken at an altitude(height) of 22000 feet above sea level while returning to Male' from Gan.
Visible from Oxfordshire between 2:55 and 3:10pm GMT
I was driving home when I saw these but it took a few minutes before I found somewhere safe to pull over to take a photo with my Samgsung Galaxy S5 phone camera
Anticrepuscular rays are visible on the opposite side of the sky from the Sun, with the rays appearing to converge at the anti-solar point. This is a line of sight effect; the rays are in fact parallel but they appear to converge on the Sun and antisolar point in the same way that a long road or railway track appears to converge in the far distance. They are not a rare phenomenon, but very often we focus on the rays visible around the Sun. Whenever conditions are favourable for crepuscular rays, it's always worth looking in the opposite direction to see if any anticrepuscular rays are visible
Neolithic rays - Crepuscular rays at sunset at the Standing Stones of Stenness
A dramatic sunset laced with crepuscular rays marks the end of a day at the Heart of Neolithic Orkney. These are the three largest remaining stones forming part of the Standing Stones of Stenness. Situated on Mainland Orkney on an isthmus between the Lochs of Stenness and Harray and close to the Ring of Brodgar and Maeshowe chambered cairn. This 5m high Neolithic henge structure is believed to be the oldest set of standing stones in the British Isles. Estimates date the construction of the stone henge circle to circa 3100BC - over 5000 years ago.

Hope you have a great day!

Schneider-Kreuznach Tele-Xenar electric 135mm f:3.5 (M-42 screw mount)
PENTAX K-1
The lens appears to be identical to one made for the Rollei SL between 1972 and 1976. The word "electric", together with the M-42 mount, indicates that this version was produced for Praktica cameras with open aperture metering.
View large and zoom in to enjoy the blossom, the blur and the bokeh!

How do you sum this past year? A year where you couldn’t hug everyone you wanted, a year where in the run up to Christmas people were discussing social bubbles rather than decorative baubles, and a year where so many things we took for granted, such as travel, are best postponed right now. All due to an illness caused by a coronavirus.
For me, the most haunting part of this illness was the cruelty of the solitary death. The deafening silence in ICUs, where so many patients were connected to ventilators. The overwhelming helplessness and grief people felt for not being able to spend time with their loved ones. I tend, however, to focus on hope and light rather than on darkness. This virus forced me, as many others, to reflect and rethink my priorities; to appreciate more my local surroundings rather than driving hundreds of miles to photograph, to read an extra book or cook a new recipe.
Travelling long distances to spend time with family this Christmas is risky, as we should avoid spreading the virus, instead we could spend a cosy holiday with our loved ones and embrace the opportunities to resume busier gatherings in the years to come. Physical distancing this holiday will mean that there will be more of us around to enjoy more sunsets, open gifts and hear the cheer and laughter that are associated with this time of year.
There is always a crack of light in the darkness. All we have to do is find it.
I am so grateful for your support and wish you a joyful Christmas surrounded by the special people in your lives.
Went on a walk with my daughter on New Year’s Day… there was a special atmosphere in the local forest and it I felt whatever is happening in the world, there is always light and there is always hope. Happy New Year everyone 🍀
This thunderstorm was considered severe by the NWS although I heard no thunder. It was however quite massive and developed intense light and shadow rays off its sharply defined edge.
