I had been watching a homogenous arc for over half an hour, when I rewarded with some rays. Unfortunately there was still some cloud in the east.
4th May 2021 was an epic day for weather! We had heavy rain/hail showers passing over. Just after 17:00 BST a very heavy shower produced this epic double rainbow with incredibly bright anticrepuscular rays! This was an amazing sight. In addition, this was the most supernumerary arcs I've ever seen on a rainbow. The photos were taken with my Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge mobile phone camera and unfortunately the camera struggles to pick them up. During the shower that caused this display, there were hailstones which had a diameter of 12mm!
came across this character while retrieving a stray ball. It's great to see these big old rays, we gave each other a respectful nod and went about our business.

Opening Day with a rally and block party on Tuesday, April 2 on Central Ave. and 13th Street from noon to 3 p.m. There were prizes, games, cold beer, ballpark fare and live music with country rock band, the Troy Duncan Band, and Top 40 hits by Sunburn. St. Pete Loves the Rays!
Before we begin let me tell you the most beautiful thing about this 45rpm. I found it in the trash (in very good condition). I was taking a long bike ride, up roads I had never been before and there it was – in a pile of discarded 45rpms on the curb of a leafy suburb outside of Boston, Massachusetts.
Ray Charles was a powerhouse. One of those super stars with enough bank to start his own label – Tangerine Records – which lasted from 1962 to 1973. It was distributed (the key to any record deal) by his label at the time: ABC – Paramount Records. Tangerine released a slew of known, semi-known and totally forgotten artists including the Ohio Players (who you really should give credit for hanging in there as they released singles on Tangerine in the late 1960s but didn’t really exploded until the Disco 70s).
The pictured Tangerine single was released in 1971 and the side that is showing, “Booty Butt”, is a slow slippery slide of a song at once countrified and urbane, twangy while maintaining the jazzy:

The flipside is a version of that Hard Bop stalwart “The Sidewinder” by Lee Morgan, a song that made enough of a funk crossover impression to also be covered by The JBs (James Brown’s band):

Ray Charles impresses me through his deep schooling in Gospel, R&B, Jazz and Country and Western, but in researching all this I came to realize that even though his monster hit “What’d I Say” was released in 1959 it sounded really fresh, really happening to my young ears many, many years later, unlike that dude Elvis who sounded really corny many years after the fact (don’t worry, I eventually got Elvis though he still kept the kitsch veneer), but check out this quote from Billy Joel: "This may sound like sacrilege, but I think Ray Charles was more important than Elvis Presley".
Today went to Ras Al Khaima with my friend .Business cum casual trip .
While coming back,friend insisted on driving on beach side.Start was good but suddenly we found ourselves in loose sand. After all UAE is a desert country...so there is sand everywhere but some places have very loose sand .So it was bad day for us.Out car got stuck in sand and after trying every possibility, we couldn't pull it out.Finally some of UAE locals helped us .They were having a huge 4x4 vehicle and also a good tow strap ....and finally we could come out.
While we were stuck, I found the clouds showing us Ray of Hopes :D
Like God wanted to show us the Ray of hope and also the lesson :D

While waiting for a train at Chicago’s 11th Street METRA station, a procession of large yellow machines rolled to a stop on a track next to the platform. One of them, with the long-nosed profile of a road grader but without the blade, stood with the operator’s door open on this hot day, and I leaned in to ask what work the machine was designed to do.
“It lifts both rails up about a quarter of an inch and pulls a damaged wooden tie out sideways,” said Ray at the controls. “The machine ahead of me pulls the spikes out and marks the tie, then I pull the tie, and the machine behind me loads the tie onto a small flat-car. The two machines farther back in line lift the rails again, push a new tie into position, and drive new spikes to hold the rails in place.” All these machines were idling loudly and conversation was difficult, but Ray agreed to have his picture taken for the project after warning me that his face “might break the camera.”
I took one photo with automatic flash since he was in shadow inside the operator’s cabin, and then took another without the flash. The photo taken in natural light wasn’t well focused, so I’ve chosen the photo taken with the flash. I showed Ray the better photo and he winced and laughed, saying “oh, I broke it!” Finally I asked his name, thanked him, introduced myself and gave him a home-made contact card, inviting him to email me for a copy of his photo.
On my way home I pondered the enormous changes technology has brought to railroad work over the past hundred or more years. Once, gangs of strong men would lever the rails up to remove a bad tie, the new tie would be placed, the rails aligned, and the spikes driven by men with measuring tools and sledge-hammers. They would have been amazed if they could have seen the machines I saw today and were told how men can now replace ties while sitting down. For a first-hand verbal account of the old-fashioned method, I urge you to find and listen to a recording of U. Utah Phillips’ comic monologue “Moose Turd Pie” concerning his days as the cook for a railroad crew.
Thank you, Ray, for explaining your work and for agreeing to be my eighteenth Stranger. You were very friendly to me and I wish we’d had more time to chat before my train arrived on the opposite track.

Just after 7pm local time and nearly two hours before sunset I heard thunder from the west of the city, so grabbed the camera and sat on the front porch to see what developed. Not much actually as the storm moved north of the city, but did get some sun rays through holes in the clouds. Not much colour in the original image so processed as a monochrome.

I had the Flags/Iwo Jima combo on DVD, but I lent it to an ex, we broke up and I never saw them again. Now I have them on glorious Blu-Ray along with some other goodies. Question is, which one do you watch first? The Americans, or the Japanese?
