Miracle Fruit Partyyyyyy

In fruit in woodland at Brown's Folly nature reserve, overlooking Bath in the UK.

Went to go strawberry picking and ended up with raspberries.

The farm we went to said the strawberry season came 2 weeks early, and ended two weeks early. I thought I was going right at the perfect time!

Luckily the Raspberry season was just starting, and I love raspberries! We picked enough to make a batch of jam. These berries were in being prepped for the jam!

On a total side note, this is the second time in a year that I have gone to a farm to pick one fruit and ended up with something entirely different and not the fruit I had planned to pick! In the fall, my roommate and I went to go apple picking, and came back with peaches.

Last year the suckers were everywhere in the garden. This spring I pulled, trimmed and cut the old plants (5 year old) down to 3".. Unexpectedly they came back with a vengeance bearing abundant rasberries and lots to share with my resident deers, ants etc.

I saw this planted with the flowers at the arboretum also so this is going to be a keeper with more edging later. This bears fruits twice - summer and fall.

Getting ready to make jam.

2-1/2 pounds here and I have lots more in the freezer.

I'm going to try to make a raspberry cordial that I can bottle (small bottles) and give to folks for Christmas. We'll see how that turns out...
