“When you wake up in the morning, Pooh,” said Piglet at last, “what's the first thing you say to yourself?”
“What's for breakfast?” said Pooh. “What do you say, Piglet?”
“I say, I wonder what's going to happen exciting today?” said Piglet.
Pooh nodded thoughtfully.
“It's the same thing,” he said.

A nice surprise
I never knew this little bush was back there
in the corner of jungle that comes up
behind the house
Our destination is the fire lookout that is the little white dot on top of the highest point. (view at full size) A lovely day for a moderate hike - about 11 Km return and 640 meters max ascent.
I planted ten canes this spring (I should have planted them earlier in the winter) and this is pretty much it for our harvest this year.
Autumn Bliss raspberries. A few canes were left at 40cm height to see if they would fruit earlier. Bad year to experiment; who knows if it worked, could have been the hot/cold/wet/dry weather instead. Whatever. Happy to be eating raspberries in June.
Fresh local raspberries bought from Marino's fruit stand south of Canby, Oregon. As a diabetic with a sweet tooth, I put two packets of Equal on them and a mixture of about 3/4 light cream and 1/4 1% milk. They were delicious! Even my cat Silver was entranced by the cream smell and came onto my lap while I was eating them, although he was a good boy and let me eat them unbothered. ;-)
