More playing with my 50mm, f1.4 and shots of stuff from the back yard.
2-1/2 pounds here and I have lots more in the freezer.
I'm going to try to make a raspberry cordial that I can bottle (small bottles) and give to folks for Christmas. We'll see how that turns out...

I went to visit my lovely girlfriend and upon arrival she presented this delicious raspberry tart. I just purchased my new lens: Sony 35mm 1.8. It is my first wide aperture lens so I was excited to test the depth of field.
After making the tiny chocolate cakes, I had a lot of little leftover cake pieces. At first, I was going to stick them in the freezer to use as a crust for something in the future.
Then the boyfriend suggested that I make a trifle as we also had black raspberries from his grandparent's house in need of a good use.
Not to mention, I got this trifle bowl for my birthday and hadn't christened it yet.
So, here you have it. A black raspberry trifle...with Devil's Food Cake and vanilla pastry cream.
Yum. Not too rich because it's not too much chocolate...unilke those baby chocolate cakes. :)
I'm going berry picking next week with work friends...there might be another trifle in the very near future.
