My sister and I were exploring part of "our" stream we hadn't looked at before, and discovered this beautiful spot.
Aratiatia Rapids are formed when the dam gates of the Waikato River are opened a few times a day. These are also the famous rapids used in the filming of Peter Jackson's movie, The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug.
This is my first attempt with the Tiltshift Maker.
This was shot from the 7th floor of Butterworth Hospital in Grand Rapids last month. I find the homes in this neighborhood very colorful.
Milton Bradley Big Ben - Rock Rapids - 5
1000 pieces. Complete. No Date.
36x28 grid = 1008 pieces.
As dramatic as the scene is, the picture is muddled and the color seems off. Pieces are papery, and cut from the back. The lower right corner pieces is there, but missing the paper.
Full disclosure: this one was already partially assembled in slabs, so it took about an hour and a half to pieces together and fill in the gaps (one and a half episodes of X-Files).

Shortly after taking this picture at the top of high force waterfall, a man got his kit off and had a swim, while what appeared to be his less than worried mother filmed it. Rather him than me!

The waters from the Niagara Falls initially accumulates over a wide area that soon narrows down as the river continues to flow North en route to merging with the Great Lakes. At the point where the river narrows, for a stretch of a few miles, the river builds up into a furious "Category 6 Rapids". The force of the water over the years has washed away all dirt on the shores, leaving nothing but big rocks. Below are more pictures.

Silica Rapids is a loop track through mountain beech and subalpine shrubland in the Tongariro National Park. Starting at the Whakapapa Village Information Centre, you can weave your way along a stream to the creamy Silica Rapids terraces. Subalpine plants, amid a mixture of swamp and tussock country, feature around the track as it returns to the Bruce Road 2.5 km above the starting point.
This little gem is just part of the Silica Rapids
These are two hotels that are directly across from the museum. The one of the left is the 25-year-old Amway Grand Plaza Hotel, which was built as a series of additions to Grand Rapids' old, famous Pantlind hotel. The one of the right is a new J.W. Marriott Hotel that is opening this fall--guess what? It's also owned by Amway.
Of the four tallest buildings in Grand Rapids, three are hotels and all three, if I am not mistaken, are owned by amway.
