Recently, I discovered this area near the co-op where I shop. This railroad track goes through the city's west end.
I went on a photo foraging walk in Lourmarin, Provence with my good friend Tillman Kleinhans ARPS EFIAP/b DPAGB BPE2* and came across this image. Out of the many images I collected, this is one of my favourites.
Since I didn't do this in a long, long time, I felt the need to practice faking a tilt-shift picture.
Canadian Pacific track at Mount Stephen - Field, British Columbia, Canada - August, 1979.
This picture was digitized and tweaked from a Kodachrome slide and was taken either by my Mom or Dad during one of their many trips around North America.
Out of all of the KBS's destinations, Kankakee has been their least-frequently served interchange in recent years. Here is GP38-2 #702 pulling cars from the CN onto old Big Four trackage at Kankakee, IL last summer.
It’s nice when nature throws up the unusual. I visited Leighton Moss after all the heavy rainfall. Most of the foot paths being under water, so wellies only, I was informed of a good chance of seeing Water Rails so I headed to a Spot that’s quite good and soon found myself in a very awkward situation as I was sat very low the bird was too close for many shots and was feeding on the mealworms I put down, I was trying to get to the bird’s eye level but water was seeping down my wellies, it was a pure delight.
It's so beautiful walking along the closed railway line Ålgårdbanen during summer, or actually all year. But there are so many species of lovely flowers there now.
The other images I've uploaded from walks along the rails:
Another image as I was going through some old slides to scan - this is another one by my late friend Wirt Kriesten [1954-1976].
I believe it was taken with a Nikkormat FTN on Kodachrome 64, lens unknown.
