The Pudding Creek Trestle
Ten Mile Trail
Fort Bragg, California
Sometimes the path from railroad to bike trail is a bit convoluted.
Constructed in 1915, the Ten Mile Railroad brought lumber from a logging area 10 miles north into Ft Bragg. The railroad line was converted to a haul road in 1949, which remained in use until 1983 when it was damaged by El Nino storms. The haul road was then converted into a trail as part of a local habitat restoration program. It is now part of a protected cultural and historic site.
The Pudding Creek Trestle is 527 feet long and 44 feet high, with 34 uprights in it.
Thanks for stopping by!

Shot with the Olympus E-M1, Mark II along with my Olympus 12-200mm lens in the vicinity of Charlemont in northwestern Massachusetts. It had rained earlier that day or the day before so accessing this embankment was no easy task given the slippery conditions underfoot.

Every time just wonderful to look at the rails and follow them with the eyes. This picture I made at the old Train Station in Gomaringen.
Some would say I've been of the rails for years, some would say I just haven't found the right tack yet !
