Years of use, worn shiny. I've always liked how you can tell how much a train track is used by its gleam.

Stack of rails for commuter rails being built in salt lake. I wonder how many tons of steel is stacked there.

Went out benching freights at one of my spots for a few hours on Saturday. It was like an hour before the first one actually rolled in. Saw some freights, saw some graffiti, got sunburned, and had a good time.
I've always found everything related to trains to be exciting. And there's something scintillating about this time of night in the fall. It makes this a fun and powerful image for me.
