Yes, I took accordion lessons many moons ago!
This was probably about 1960. Can you dig the drapes man? And the carpet remnants in front of the sectional sofa? (I don't know where the other section was.)
And the big old consul television with the rabbit ears antennae. The set was B&W of course, and if I remember correctly, a Phillips. Or was that a Philco? It featured a pickled oak finish. All the rage back then. My parents had a whole bedroom suite with the same finish. I can remember about 40 years later being asked by someone to restore some of that style of finish.
ODT - Instrument
From a 1975 issue of 'Korea' magazine, this is really retro DPRK-iana. The woman is dedicated in her study of Juche, the room is pleasantly decorated with flowers, and there's a TV set that picks up the Kim Channel. Life is good. ;-)
Hanging out at the entrance to the park were a few activists handing out brochures to people.
Given my Japanese isn't very flash, she gave me a photo instead.

This is Jameson's very first attempt ever of doing the rabbit ears thing. Braelyn had no idea he was doing it and Jameson thought it was so funny.

Warlock Dan And His Revenge!
Dan, the Warlock was tired of Sam and Jack taking his toys, so as revenge he cast a spell on them and turned their ears to Rabbit ears! Poor Jack and Sam!
Today marks not only the end of October but marks the end of my 365, year 1. It’s been an amazing journey through the months. It has been great getting to know new friends and reconnecting with old friends.
Some of my photos have surprised me in their popularity while others I felt would be popular got little to no activity which tells me I still have a lot of growing to do.
Thank you for all of your views, comments, support, love and friendship.
Starting tomorrow I will be starting my new 365 (actually 366) project with some new things in the plans… I hope you will continue the journey with me.
Thank you,
James
Brand New 1984 ChannelScan Remote Control System
This device is new and has never been used. I grabbed it because my grandfather was throwing this away, and I thought it was neat. What it is is a remote control system for the VHF dial of a television set. The back of the device has a dial that attaches to the channel dial on your TV. Though it is remote control, it is not wireless, as the device has a 25ft cord attached to it.
The device is basically useless now since the transition to digital signals, but I am still going to hold onto it for a while. I don't have a TV with a dial anymore; I used to keep a 1979 13" Zenith around for the nostalgia of playing my Atari 2600 VCS on a television of the same era, but it blew out last year.

We had our best day so far with our little granddaughter in Bicester. She settled more quickly after separating from her parents, and was happy to play with us, or me, when I took her out to Peekaboos and to the park. She loves the toddler swing, and spent ages on it. I walked over 7 miles altogether, taking her to Peekaboos and then walking around after lunch to get her off to sleep for her nap. I was pleased to have the energy to do it!
