This little abandoned crofters cottage, set within the quirky landscape caught my attention.
I would like another shot of it with interesting light.

Today's prompt was for A Quirky Animal.
My Quirky Animal is the much maligned Haggis. The only three legged animal in the world, it has two long legs on one side of its body and one short leg on the other side. This allows the creature to run round mountains in an anti-clockwise direction.
They are very fast runners and difficult to catch. The best way to capture one is by using two beaters, one to chase it anti-clockwise round the mountain.
Once the chase has begun, the second beater should run round in the opposite direction and confront the animal. This will cause it to panic and try to run in the opposite direction, but because its short leg is now on the downhill side of the mountain, it will tumble and fall into the beater's net.
Haggis are now designated a protected species and can only be hunted on the 30th and 31st of February.

These gals do their laundry at the mat every Saturday b/c they have iron water at home....so they were serious about getting some shots where they spend Saturday mornings.
As quirky as you want, and sometimes barely wider than a meter, this enclave where calm reigns makes us lose our spatial and temporal bearings, with its half-timbered houses from another era and these green private islands. To take part in this secret place in the city, once used by clerics on their way to the twice-daily mass given at the cathedral, there is nothing simpler than to take the plunge, slip in, let yourself be transported and immerse yourself in this peaceful, even slightly confidential, atmosphere.

Zedd & Kehlani - Good Thing

I booked myself tables at all the best restaurants then eat alone
I buy myself fast cars just so I can drive them real fucking slow
I like my own company, company I don't need it
I'm not always cold, I'm just good on my own, so good on my own
I've always been told, one day I'll find
Somebody who changes my mind
If they come along, I won't think twice
'Cause I already got a good thing with me
Yeah, I already got everything I need
The best things in life are already mine
Don't tell me that you got a good thing for me
'Cause I already got a good thing with me
Yeah, I've already done everything I've dreamed
I'm good by myself, don't need no one else
Don't tell me that you got a good thing for me
'Cause I've already got a good thing
I make myself up just to dance in the mirror when I'm at home
I pose and take pictures then send them to people that I don't know
I like getting compliments, compliments how I'm feeling, ooh
I'm not always selfish, just bad at romance, it's not in my bones
I've always been told, one day I'll find
Somebody who changes my mind
If they come along, I won't think twice
'Cause I already got a good thing with me
Yeah, I already got everything I need
The best things in life are already mine
Don't tell me that you got a good thing for me
'Cause I already got a good thing with me
Yeah, I've already done everything I've dreamed
I'm good by myself, don't need no one else
Don't tell me that you got a good thing for me
'Cause I've already got a good thing
I've always been told, one day I'll find
Somebody who changes my mind
If they come along, I won't think twice
'Cause I already got a good thing with me
Yeah, I already got everything I need

I'll probably get shot down for saying this, but I can only describe this place as truly Egglestonian. Quirky and bizarre with overtones of mental illness thrown in. These three photos today tell us something about the person who lives here. The title comes from the almost illegible scrawl on the wall.
I have been going through this puzzle book over the last month. Today I got to a fresh page and was shocked to see notations on the bottom. I can't tell what they say. The handwriting looks a little like mine but I don't recall ever having written anything. If I were making a memo I would have written it on a small card I keep in my kitchen. Since I live alone this one has me scratching my head. The drawn arrows do look like mine but again I have no memory of having written anything in my book. I can't think of a reason I would have. Hmmm....
Also, I somehow managed not to solve the puzzle correctly. Maybe someone was trying to jinx me.
Citroen 2CV6 Dolly at Thursford in Norfolk. The car looks like one I’ve seen at the Stony Stratford car shows with its distinctive yellow and green livery. Rather appropriately the colours of Norwich FC, aka The Canaries!
My quirky Nikon FE2.
I’ve learned a lot about the fascinating camera. I have a FE but this is my first FE2. I came to own this camera but pure accident.
While at a flea market I saw a black Nikon camera, with a lens, and asked the vendor if I could examine the camera. Well, what do you know, a FE2 with a Nikkor 50mm f1.4 ai-s!! I didn’t have any batteries to check the meter but it looked fine. Mirror was up, but it came loose later. The lens was stiff to turn but not bad and a bit moldy in places. The price?… $1000 New Taiwanese Dollars or @ $32 USD. Of course I tried to haggle but she would not budge. At $1000 (@ $32 USD) it is still a deal: I bought it.
As I said, I own a FE and a FM2n and I know them well, but this camera is a bit different.
Things that I thought were defective were actually part of the design, such as…
The meter doesn’t start functioning until exposure 1 and the meter shuts off after 16 seconds. But…sometimes the meter on THIS camera doesn’t shut off. So, a quick rotation of film speed dial to M250 and it’s off. No sweat.
Oh, the Nikkor lens…it got a CLA and for $44 USD, it’s like new. The focus and aperture are smooth as silk and the glass is immaculate AND I’ve decided to leave this 50mm on the FE2 as its main lens. I found them together and I think they’ll continue to work together.
I’m enjoying this FE2 and probably will be its last owner because I think someone wouldn’t want to deal with moving the film speed to M250 to shut off the meter. No problem for me…I’m enjoying this camera.
