Another good product idea seen at the Southaven Tuesday Morning. But just like some other previously seen electronics items they sell, seems just a bit overpriced.

I have been going through this puzzle book over the last month. Today I got to a fresh page and was shocked to see notations on the bottom. I can't tell what they say. The handwriting looks a little like mine but I don't recall ever having written anything. If I were making a memo I would have written it on a small card I keep in my kitchen. Since I live alone this one has me scratching my head. The drawn arrows do look like mine but again I have no memory of having written anything in my book. I can't think of a reason I would have. Hmmm....

Also, I somehow managed not to solve the puzzle correctly. Maybe someone was trying to jinx me.

Found this wonderful doorway on my local travels of discovery. It is in a village called Barrowden, population 420.

If I was a door I would like to be this one, I have the hair to match the thatch :-)

A quirky poem totally unrelated

Flattened

The story that is told

By a severely flattened toad,

Is of evidential failure

In attempts to cross the road.

And there you have it ;-)

My quirky Nikon FE2.

I’ve learned a lot about the fascinating camera. I have a FE but this is my first FE2. I came to own this camera but pure accident.

While at a flea market I saw a black Nikon camera, with a lens, and asked the vendor if I could examine the camera. Well, what do you know, a FE2 with a Nikkor 50mm f1.4 ai-s!! I didn’t have any batteries to check the meter but it looked fine. Mirror was up, but it came loose later. The lens was stiff to turn but not bad and a bit moldy in places. The price?… $1000 New Taiwanese Dollars or @ $32 USD. Of course I tried to haggle but she would not budge. At $1000 (@ $32 USD) it is still a deal: I bought it.

As I said, I own a FE and a FM2n and I know them well, but this camera is a bit different.

Things that I thought were defective were actually part of the design, such as…

The meter doesn’t start functioning until exposure 1 and the meter shuts off after 16 seconds. But…sometimes the meter on THIS camera doesn’t shut off. So, a quick rotation of film speed dial to M250 and it’s off. No sweat.

Oh, the Nikkor lens…it got a CLA and for $44 USD, it’s like new. The focus and aperture are smooth as silk and the glass is immaculate AND I’ve decided to leave this 50mm on the FE2 as its main lens. I found them together and I think they’ll continue to work together.

I’m enjoying this FE2 and probably will be its last owner because I think someone wouldn’t want to deal with moving the film speed to M250 to shut off the meter. No problem for me…I’m enjoying this camera.

One of the many reasons i love old houses. This tiny staircase ascends to the third floor of a late 18th century NC house.

Taken in a side street in Santa Cruz de Tenerife

Seen above a shoe store on Toronto's Queen St. West.

One of the (many, many) things I loved about Toronto while I was there during last year's Great Zombies and Lattes Road Trip was the similarly fabulous and quirky style that some of the neighborhoods had to Baltimore.

These are my fave necklaces even though I dont wear them very often. The owl you havent seen yet, I got it from one of my best friends (Kristy) in a parcel she sent me for christmas. I adore it! And now with Pete I can show you the other two in more detail! The one on the left I bought at a market in Melbourne and the one on the right is a locket I bought on etsy from The Black Apple.

In St. James’s Park London you’re as likely to get a pelican at your feet as a pigeon…

It's difficult to keep a photostream fresh unless you're Monica Talbot! I go for a little quirkiness which is where joining the lads in the band as surly lead singer comes in handy.

I fitted 2 new wall lights yesterday and wondered if one of them would look interesting when photographed and 'tweaked'.

This is the result after a bit of brutal editing

#83 Quirky for 122 pictures in 2022

Something different today. While we were going through some old files, we have found this snapshot taken in September 2006 during our day-trip to Slovakia.

Installed in 1997, this quirky bronze statue of a man peeking out from under a manhole cover is certainly one of the most photographed sculptures in Bratislava. Heated discussions have taken place as to what actually the man is up to. Some people say that Čumil is a pervert spending most of his day trying to look up women's skirts as they pass by. Others say he's just a hardworking guy that had just cleaned the sewer and is now watching the world go by from an unusual vantage point.

Textures with thanks to Kim Klassen (Partings, Tea Time and Total Grunge).

This goofy face is totally him. I just love him so...

Created for the Digitalmania challenge where this week we are being inspired to create Quirky Collages.

Thank you for looking.

This is Riley’s favorite item to retrieve.

Why?

I have no idea. But he fell in love with it at first sight.

Love the roughness of these. They will evolve for sure, not sure what to call them, fish, wood, figures - all are in there!
