A quick tour of the Cape. Paarl rock, Table mountain and Lion's head. Even the Tygerberg is just visible between the Paarl rock and Table mountain. For those that do not know, the Paarl rock is like 50km from Table mountain! It looks a whole lot closer in this picture.
Just quick as I must go off to bed as been unwell all day, but my dad went up in the loft for me today and as a surprise brought down my old dolls house from when I was 6 yrs old. He hid it and said I had to find something in a pillow case. I expected it to be a stack of his washing. To my surprise when I looked inside I found this.
Instantly I felt like I did when I was 6 yrs old all over again. It really does need doing up, but decided now I will and I just remember that Christmas going to bed with a big smile, so I am off to do the same now, then you can see who else found it tomorrow xxx
One of the many vendors on Via dei Fiori Imperiali. Having his wares on a thin piece improvised wooden table and stand helps him close up shop in a jiffy when he needs to run...from the police.
The improvised table looks like this:
-At the top, there is an oval hole which he can put his fingers through and serves as the handle.
-The sunglasses are held in place by their shaft using a string that wraps horizontally around the "table".
When he spots a police car, he deftly puts his fingers through the handle, flip the table so that the sunglasses is hidden from view, and picks up the stand. He stands around nonchalantly until the police passes by and is out of view. Once the coast is clear, he sets up shop again and displays his wares.
While I settled into a couple locations for extended stays. I also rode around the parade route via non-parade streets, stealing quick looks at the crowds at the various intersections.
Didn't feel very much like cooking so just fixed something for a quick bite.
You can't see it but there's a portobello mushroom under the brie cheese. I do like brie cheese with a drizzle of honey... only I wasn't sure if I would like it together with the mushroom. ..Mmmmm, not bad ;)

September 4, 2019 - My shore excursion this afternoon was the: White Pass Rail & Klondike Highway. "Presented in multiple languages, marvel at some of North American's most breathtaking sites with a coach ride through Skagway then on to the Klondike Highway and up through West White Pass. Here, you'll stare in wonder at the mountaintop's other-worldly appearance. At an elevation of over 3,000 feet, this lunar-looking area boasts 300-year-old stunted juniper trees and dwarfed spruces that only stand two or three feet tall. Once you reach Fraser, British Columbia, you'll transfer to the White Pass & Yukon Route Railroad, a narrow-gauge "Scenic Railway of the World." Built in 1898 for easy access to the gold fields, the vintage cars have been fully restored, with large picture windows that frame the breathtaking panorama of mountains, glaciers, gorges, waterfalls and tunnels. You'll travel the opposite side of the White Pass, down into the canyon and chug into downtown Skagway where you can disembark for shopping before returning to your ship."
While the Connector Boat’s list of standard features makes it the perfect firefighting platform, its patented QuickFIT rail system is what makes the boat truly exceptional. Integrated into every Connector Boat’s exterior, the QuickFIT system allows all Connector Boats to interconnect within a matter of seconds. In front-to-back or side-to-side configurations, the platform created by multiple Connector Boats offers unparalleled stability and coverage during firefighting, rescue, and dragging operations, allowing rescue personnel to cover large areas in a shorter amount of time. The interoperable, multi-unit platform is particularly valuable in operations involving multiple agencies, as Connector Boats from one agency may be quickly partnered with boats from others.
