I got bored one day and used the spare shelves from a pine wardrobe to make two advertising boards. Great fun just letting my imagination run wild!
Defending the right to occupy the place in nature reserved as his!! May this majestic creature always have a little space to roam free...
Burned on Birch...
Woodburned wall hanging for Grandma's birthday next month. The stained glass outlines will help her see it better from across the room. Not an original design; it was composed in Photoshop from two stained glass patterns found the web, and more leaves were added. It's being varnished today with multiple coats of clear satin acrylic spray finish. Dimensions are 6" x 6" and wood type is basswood.
Carving and pyrography stages finished now, and german glass eyes fitted. next and final stage...the painting.
This is my first decoy duck carving and will be painted in acrylics. (Please see my set 'decoy duck' to see the progress from the beginning)
Walnut was chosen for the 11 3/4 inches long shaft of this elegant Tibetan support spindle. Dave has burn etched the canary wood whorl with his signature leaf motif. This supported spindle weights 47 grams.

Walnut and tiger maple are the woods chosen by Dave for this beautiful spindle. He has used pyrography (burn etching) to adorn the notched 2 1/2 inch walnut whorl with his signature leaf motif. The overall length of the tiger maple shaft, including the brass hook, is 10 inches and the weight is 1.1 ounce.

This trinket box was designed as a birthday present for a young lady, using images and designs that were special to her. These included tiger lilies, ankhs, Celtic triquetras and butterflies.
1 3/4" x 2 1/2" wooden egg, woodburned and painted to look like a Skylander video character. Epoxy clay used to make the hammer, helmet ridge and gems.
Walking stick with pyrography so suit the shapes and intent of the stick. Other animals shown as well.
Pyrography Classes take place at the Chingford Horticultural Society Hall, Wednesday evenings 7:30-9:30pm.
