This was a 5K put on by the San Antonio Road Runners on July 18, 2009 in San Antonio. It was a Women's only 5K. The weather was pleasant after the blistering heat of the last few day and a great run through a beautiful part of San Antonio. Lots of participants of all ages. Sally Rios did a most commendable job as Race Director. I certainly had fun photographing it.

I was listening to the radio when they put on this song. Suddenly I was brought back to my twenties, to my university years, to my student residence time. And we used to consume the Buena Vista Social Club cd.

Na botta de allegria all the way! ;-)

¿Qué te importa que te ame,

si tú no me quieres ya?

El amor que ya ha pasado

no se debe recordar

Fui la ilusión de tu vida

un día lejano ya,

Hoy represento al pasado,

no me puedo conformar.

Si las cosas que uno quiere

se pudieran alcanzar,

tú me quisieras lo mismo

que veinte años atrás.

Con qué tristeza miramos

un amor que se nos va

Es un pedazo del alma

que se arranca sin piedad

Why do you care if I love you

if you no longer love me?

We should not dwell

On love that is past

I was your life's illusion

One day long ago

Now I'm history

I can't face the change

If only we could make

our dreams come true

If only you would love me

as you did twenty years ago

How mournfully we watch

a love that ebbs away

heartlessly a part of the soul

is torn away

Put on your Sunday's best and prowl the streets in the black parade. This little darling is all dolled up in a black peacoat with ruffled bow, a top hat with walking stick and who cannot forget to go out in full fangs.

there are so many times when i wish this actually worked...but no luck yet finding one BIG enough for that pie hole!

Following on from the put and take we dug out over Christmas, I had cause to google the origins of another traditional English pub game, Shove Ha'penny. I remember playing this as a child, arguing about whether it was 'in or out' As well as memories returned we had a laugh too.....

Paula put some effort into capturing the spinning on pixels. A little person could put a lot of G forces into the extraction.

Put her in the other lala outfit that I own. I saw the new fashion packs at my local walmart. I want to get theeemmmm!!!!

Matt put on is skullcap and he looked like a robber, so De had him pose. This is the result. His hand says MST3K 4 Life.

Risible cat statue in the grounds of Ross Priory, on the bonny bonny banks of Loch Lomond.

Put a "magpie" in a green shirt next to a redrock pillar, what did you think was gonna happen??

Not this, of course.

No way :^)

It is Friday!

If you worked hard this week, you deserve to put your feet up.

BTW, be careful when painting barefooted.

Put your head on my shoulder

Hold me in yours arms, baby

Squeeze me oh so tight and show me

That you love me too

Put your lips next to mine dear,

Won't you kiss once oh baby,

Just a kiss goodnight and maybe

You and I will fall in love

People say

That love is a game

A game, you just can't win

If there's a way I'll find it someday

And then this fool will rush in

Put your head on my shoulder

Whisper in my ear baby

Words I wanna hear, tell me

Tell me that you love me too

Put your head on my shoulder

Whisper in my ear baby

Words I wanna hear baby

Put your head on my shoulder

Dedicated to the one I love..Kiss John:)

This is essentially an out-take, but I liked it. Reminded me of the sun, ejecting plumes of plasma into space.

PUT YO HANDS UP! His tattoos amaze me, I WANT TO TOUCH PLEASE.

On Labor Day weekend 2002, I put an avocado seed in a bowl of water with toothpicks to see if it would grow. That same weekend was my father's birthday. During the conversation we had when I called to offer my birthday greetings, we had a watershed moment in our relationship. He passed away almost exactly one year later and I've since associated that avocado seed with this important conversation I'd had with him. Now, four and a half years later, that seed has become a tree which is more than 4 feet in length. In fact, it is on the verge of being too big for our living room. I'm in a bit of a quandary, because I'd love to plant it in the ground, but it wouldn't survive the first Winter in the Northeast. It's getting too big to ship at any reasonable rate, perhaps. Not exactly sure. It has so much meaning attached to it, I don't want to just get rid of it. Any of my West coast Flickr friends interested in having an avocado tree for your backyard? Avocado trees have special significance to me as well, as the backyard of my childhood home in Southern California had two productive avocado trees which my father did a good job cultivating.

(Separately: A coworker told me that Bill Gates has someone to remind him to clean his glasses. After I make my first billion, I'll hire someone to do that for me too.)

This was put together with 93 individual shots. My 2GB of system memory wasn't enough, and the program ran out of memory on the first attempt. I finally had to make the output 1,200px high just to get through the rendering.

It was -6 degrees with the windchill, but it would have been too packed with people had I gone in the afternoon. As it turned out, I spent most of my time waiting for small groups of people to walk into and out of the shot.

Thousands grabbed their American flags, put on their red, white and blue, and celebrated America's independence July 4, 2017, with an Independence Day parade and celebration on the Square, free live concerts, arts and crafts show, food, carnival games and fireworks finale.
