When Mrs. O'Leary's cow kicked the lantern
In Chicago town
They say that started the fire
That burned Chicago down
That's the story that went around
But here's the real low-down
Put the blame on Mame, boys
Put the blame on Mame
Mame kissed a buyer from out of town
That kiss burned Chicago down
So you can put the blame on Mame, boys
Put the blame on Mame

Photographed this guy (Derek Yuen) for Australian Anhtill magazine.
At school he used to doodle shoes all day in class. Everyone, including the teachers, made fun of him. He's now the head footwear designer at Globe.

Church of St Edmund, Marske - The bones of St Cuthbert rested here after the monks took them for safety after the danes sacked Lindisfarne abbey in AD793, that with the dedication to Edmund the saxon king killed by the danes in AD870 points to an earlier church on the site possibly replaced in 12c/13c from which the north and south doors and chancel arch survive.
The present church mostly rebuilt in 1683 reusing some old materials for the Hutton family keeping the 12c north and south doorways - In 1597 Matthew Hutton, archbishop of York had bought Marske estate for his son Timothy flic.kr/p/5nn5Pz and in 1634 following a reprimand from the Bishop of Chester, Matthew Hutton son of Timothy paid for repairs to the chancel, paving the mud rush strewn floor
and "some seating". His brother Timothy gave the font dated 1663 www.flickr.com/gp/52219527@N00/ahCz1Q
John Hutton d1841 www.flickr.com/gp/52219527@N00/LziXQ7 following another reprimand rebuilt the chancel in 1823 and put box pews over the graves of his father and grandfather. He also added the porch and crenellation round the roof.

This sweater is a little low-cut to be work-appropriate without something underneath, but I have a hard time knowing what colors will work with the green. Other than this pink, I'm thinking orange, maybe? Any other ideas?
I have this same sweater in a bright-ish blue color, and I am having the same dilemma. Other than brown, what pairs well with blue?
He has fallen to sleep with this every night since we put him into his crib. But he's getting big enough to pull it down now, so it had to go. And with it went alot of other "baby" things that we will never use again. Swing, Check. Infant car seat, check. preemie clothes (he was tiny) that he hasn't worn for 6 months, check.
They were all donated to a needy family, so I can't be too sad . At least these baby things won't feel useless. Now that my BIG BOY doesn't need them anymore.
for me, this has a meaning.
this is me turning my back on all that I hate,
I am capturing my own power to forget, ignore, and get over all i want.
I am relaxed with being with myself, with being myself, I'm calm, yet my hair is wild.

Sometimes the Lord puts Angels on Earth. Thank you Lord for giving us Trinity for as long as we got to have her.
I know it's very easy for people in general to say that Second Life is "Just a Game" Unless you are actually playing the game, you don't realize the relationships, the friendships that once happen never go away.
We always say that is when sl goes to rl (sl=secondlife goes to rl=real life)
Trinity was my rl and I know for Margie, Thal, Isabri, Eye, Monroe, Teddie, libby and Xtern it was the same for them.
Trinity was the most giving, caring person I ever have met rl or sl. And because of that it was so easy to love her, protect her, and hold her close.
I know that Trinity is going to be missed by all those people that ever came into contact with her.
Trinity's real life family was also the most giving wonderful human beings that I have ever met. There is nothing they wouldn't do for Trin each and everyone of them. Thank you to the Wright & Gonzalez family for being her loving supporting family. And a special thanks to Sharon & Abel you both know how I feel and I just from the bottom of my heart thank you for loving Trin so intense and real.
I hope your running and dancing around heaven Trin just like you did in second life....RIP my dear sweet friend.
Perry's Victory and International Peace Memorial is a 352-foot monument (supposedly the world's largest Doric column) mostly complete by 1915 but dedicated in 1936. It is on the National Register of Historic Places #66000118.

Different angle than the usual front-on I usually do for shot-put. Hard to get the coaches and volunteers out of the background. The post is in the foreground because of other students to the thrower's left.
I have put together another series of photographs I took this week (Monday 15th September) when I was walking along the River Annan from the Cuthbertson Memorial Bridge (located behind the Annan Football ground) and Diamond Jubilee suspension Bridge at Warmanbie. For those people interested this is an easy walk and footpaths are provided on both sides of the river and is well worth a visit
This is a retelling of "The Cage" it's interesting because the previous issue puts this story it it's proper chronological context, and this version is told from Yeoman Colt's perspective!

This is from a large album of photographs* that was put together by an employee (or multiple employees) of Empire Gas & Electric in the Finger Lakes region of New York; whether this archive of photos was officially sanctioned or undertaken unofficially, I don’t know.
Most photos are from roughly 1916 to 1925 or so, with a handful from the 1930s, and document the men and women (mostly men, entirely white) who worked for the company as it built the infrastructure that would light and heat the homes and businesses of Auburn, Geneva, Palmyra, Seneca Falls, and many other communities** in that part of the state.
I am so grateful to my friend Rikki in New York for this album and for the kindness and generosity she has shown in both sustaining and feeding my interest in old photos and ephemera.
* Pictures of the entire assembled album are flic.kr/p/2p4H87P and flic.kr/p/2p4KGYg.
** From the Wayne County Journal of Palmyra, New York, September 13, 1923:
The Empire Gas and Electric Company was formed in 1911, merged into itself the Central New York Gas and Electric Company in 1916, and on November 1, 1920, the Company purchased the by-product plant of the Empire Coke Company.
The Empire Gas and Electric Company does the entire electric light, power and gas business of Auburn, New York. It also supplies without competition electricity to Geneva, Cayuga, Seneca Falls, Newark, Waterloo, Phelps, Palmyra, Clifton Springs, Lyons, Clyde, Weedsport and other places; and supplies without competition gas to Geneva, Cayuga, Seneca Falls, Newark, Waterloo, Phelps, Palmyra and Lyons.
With the exception of the season of the steam heating business, the Company's electrical requirements is supplied entirely by electricity generated hydro-electrically.
The estimated population served is 130,000.
