put on my floppy hat (you'll have to trust me on that one) and tried a noir shot ... like Chinatown ("my mother! my sister! my mother! my sister!")
for M24: 'me' (not revealing your identity in full)
You put your hands in the air
And you jump off the ground
And then you take that funky butt and you shake it all around
And lightly jog in place and then crank it up to a prance
This is the cool patrol dance…

These limited edition K-Swiss shoes are my treasures, they were designed by Chase Jarvis. He is one of the founders of CreativeLive, hosts The Chase Jarvis show, 30-Days of Genius interviews and author of Creative Calling. I find so much inspiration and knowledge from following him on all of his channels. There are so many nuggets of wisdom that he shares and his interviews have introduced me to other fascinating people to be inspired by as well.

The CN had trackage rights over the CP to the Valero plant near Floyd, IA, when it was built years ago, but never bothered for the business. Renew interest in Iowa and business got Valero to sign a new contract, and put in a connection in at Charles City. Now the Cedar River crews work this plant via 6 miles of CPKC Mason City Sub trackage. Here the job pulls into the east end of Valero to setout 5 cars and pickup 40 cars. Somehow 3 EJE units ended up in Iowa, and somehow the 2 orange ones ended up on this job for 2 round trips. Been a long time since pair have been on the mainline in Iowa!
My cat, Weezer was trying to play a little too rough with this praying mantis so I had to separate them. It took a few minutes for this praying mantis to settle down. He was ready to do battle.
I had to put my beloved cat, General, to sleep today.
He was 19.
He was also a wonderful creature.
General came to us in 1993. We adopted him out of a pound in Washington, DC. He licked my wife’s finger through the slats of his cell, and that saved his life. He was the one cat there that told us he liked us when all the other cats just looked at us funny. We brought him home, and he hid under our bed for about 4 hours until he decided to walk out into the living room and say, “Hello. I guess you guys aren’t so bad.” Through the years, we moved a lot: North Carolina (twice), Kansas, Colorado, DC (three times), and Baltimore. He moved with us. I spent lots of time in Kuwait, Afghanistan, and Iraq, and he was my wife’s best friend while I was gone.
General was an unusual cat in that he liked a lot of things other cats do not. I remember driving cross-country with him, and he would stand on my lap with his front paws on the steering wheel, peering through the windshield. He was extremely outgoing. If we had guests, he would always come and join the conversation. Although silent when he first entered our lives, he later became as vocal as a cat could be, and would talk to any guest. Plus, if the guest wore open-toed shoes, General was not shy about doing some toe licking. This was quite embarrassing to us, but General did not seem to mind. General always loved people, and people loved him. I think maybe he thought he was human.
The last few years, he slowed down. At first it was just a little limp going up the stairs, but in the last few days he could hardly stand up. Today was too much to bear. After a day of problems I don’t want to talk about, I had to take him in to the vet. I stroked his chin as they gave him a sedative, and I said a little prayer, thanking God for giving us such a good friend and companion. I could not stay for the part where they put him to rest. It was too much.
The connection we have with our pets is funny. They are only with us for a short time, they cannot talk, and they don’t understand much of what goes on around them. Yet they connect with us like few people do.
I took this picture a few weeks ago with a toy camera, the Digital Harinezumi. I like the way he seems far off, because now he is. A collection of better pictures of General in his prime is here: www.flickr.com/photos/andertho/sets/791047/
I loved that little furball, and he was a good friend. Thank you, General. We miss you.
I think this could be symbolic (and I don't mean anything to do with a wet groyne).
Taken on an evening when there wasn't the slightest hint of mist or mysticism or anyone being mysterious. Just eight seconds exposure and some moving water.

The locally famous Hyattsville Library saucer has been put back, during the rebuild of the Hyattsville Library. At one point, there was talk of getting rid of the saucer completely, and backlash from the community saved the saucer.

You will have to put up with more red headed woodpecker photos.
We had 3 in the yard today and they were not playing well.
I figure two are males and are trying to figure out who is dominant.
That photo is for another day.

Pleistocene-age fossils of Red-headed Woodpeckers—up to 2 million years old—have been unearthed in Florida, Virginia, and Illinois.
I think it is interesting how power gets put together on a big old railroad. Somehow, a pair of leasor units have been paired together for the Cedar River Local for the past 2 weeks out of Waterloo. It's pretty neat to see a couple of old ex-Soo Line SD60's paired back together again. Here, the girls sit at the roundhouse at Waterloo over the weekend. The Cedar River doesn't work over the weekend much, so the power will sit for a day or so unless needed on M338 for a kicker unit.
These Soo SD60's were in the 1st 21 units order (6000-6020), which were delivered between between August and October 1987. This bunch was returned leased, and some spent time on the INRD. Now, power short CN has them.
A high voltage transmission tower adjacent to the Batman Bridge north of Launceston, Tasmania.
I was trying to get a good angle on of the bridge, but there are these trees in the way of all the shots I had in my head. Then I noticed this transmission tower right next to it, and you can just walk right beneath it! Perfect!
Put on the old car coat, cruise the Rambler to the grocery store, fill up the cart with food, and rush home in time to make dinner for the kids and that hungry working man. Welcome to the mundane life of a woman during the American Gray Flannel era. And don't forget to have the house tidy.

A couple months ago, I bought and scanned a slide of MARC GP39H-2 #73 taken as it was being delivered to MARC in early 1988. I thought it was the earliest, cleanest picture of the #73 until I laid eyes on this slide. Taken at MK Rail in Boisie on October 27th 1987, the #73 is so fresh, not all of the stenciling and lettering is complete! What a fresh picture of my favorite MARC unit.
This slide also took a bit of work, since it was mounted in the frame so that the rear of the engine was sliced off. I had to open the mount carefully, reposition the positive, and seal the mount back up It was worth it since now you can see the whole engine.

Processing images of galaxies It’s not my favourite, I much rather be processing a nebula but it’s that time of year. I image this back in mid April but I put it to one side to process M57 the Owl nebula which I images afterwards, way more enjoyable.

Originally put up in 1933, along Commonwealth Avenue near its more famous cousin, the Citgo Sign in Kenmore Square, the Spectacular Shell sign today marks the Magazine Shell Station at the corner of Magazine Street and Memorial Drive since 1944 and today uses LED's rather than traditional neon. Sometimes the best strategy is to stay put.
"Be still, and know that I am God: I will be exalted among the heathen, I will be exalted in the earth."

So um yeah a loooooooooooooong time ago I requested to be put on the waiting list to receive THE socks, HOPING I would get them prior to my Day 365 back in December.
Prior to my Day 365 I was actually into sp's.
CRAZY I KNOW.
Well it didn't quite work out that way.
BUT the oh SO lovely Sarah was kind enough to send them my way recently.
The only problem is that now that 365 is no longer a part of my daily life (THANK GOD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!) I am SOOOO not into sp's anymore.
Like AT ALL.
Sooooo this is as good as it gets.
Sometimes that happens and I am okay with that.
:)
PS Before you go you just GOTTA check out Little Miss Haley and the rest of the SOTTS pics!
Leiden .....The Netherlands 2018
This is Molen de Put in Leiden. It is a wooden corn mill replica only 30 years of age.
The original mill dates back to 1619 and was owned by Jan Janszoon Put. The first mill burnt down in 1640, rebuilt in 1729 and destroyed again 1817. The octagonal mill foundation was later discovered in 1982 and reconstructed again in 1986 made possible through fundraising campaign among the population of Leiden.
