I put my money on the great grey owl.
The owl was perched on the stop sign when a big, noisy truck pulled up beside it. The truck had just started moving again when the owl took off through the intersection. A bit of a fun shot.
Having put a net up across the river to catch the kingfisher we managed to catch it in the scrub net next to the runway. This is a juvenile male and it was amazing how it's colour changed depending on the angle of the light. When we ringed the bird we were in shade and it was a pure kingfisher blue. Into the direct sunlight and greenish tones predominated.
The bird was ringed by the Lothian Ringing Group as part of a long term Constant Effort Site which has been monitored for 23 years.
Pseudophoto. I put a blueish light layer behind the birds. That's the way I make aurora's or halo's around heads, etc.
That is noticeable in this picture, albeit scarcely. The effect of the many countourlines in the BW-version Ben_Paul_M421, made some months afterwards, surprised me.

Put up a similar photo a few months ago but it didn't include the massive new skyscraper to the left. The Vanderbilt Tower. Opened 2020; 4th tallest in NY. Observation platform on top - next time!
The Empire State is now down to 7th.
I put on my rainboots and wandered through this river trying to capture this awesome beauty. I have so many compositions but here are the 1st three. I'd love you to tell me which one you like best so I can learn. If you don't like any of them, ...you can move on! hahaha. Thanks friends.

Seeing magnificent Milky Way across the night sky is always special experience, Macedonia still offers some very dark skies, where you can see it in its full glory.
► MACEDONIA'S NIGHT SKY WITH MILKY WAY - Timelapse
captures this very location as well as many others. Feel free to check it out. One photo is great, but 1000 put together gives you better idea how it was to experience it.

----------------------------- JESUS ✝️ SAVES-------------------------------
SALVATION THROUGH FAITH IN JESUS CHRIST - ALONE!
12 Salvation is found in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven given to men by which we must be saved."
❤️❤️ IT'S ALL JESUS AND NONE OF OURSELVES! ❤️❤️
16 I am not ashamed of the gospel, because it is the power of God for the SALVATION of everyone WHO BELIEVES: first for the Jew, then for the Gentile. 17 For in the gospel a RIGHTEOUSNESS FROM GOD IS REVEALED, a righteousness that is by FAITH FROM FIRST TO LAST, just as it is written: "THE RIGHTEOUS WILL LIVE BY FAITH." (Romans 1:16-17)
16 KNOW that a man is NOT justified by observing the law, but by FAITH IN JESUS CHRIST. So we, too, have put our faith in Christ Jesus that we may be JUSTIFIED BY FAITH in CHRIST and NOT by observing the law, BECAUSE BY OBSERVING THE LAW NO ONE WILL BE JUSTIFIED. (Galatians 2:16)
1. Now, brothers, I want to remind you of the gospel I preached to you, which you received and on which you have taken your stand. 2. BY THIS GOSPEL YOU ARE SAVED, if you hold firmly to the word I preached to you. Otherwise, you have believed in vain.
3. For what I received I passed on to you as of first importance: that Christ died for our sins according to the Scriptures, 4. that he was buried, that he was raised on the third day according to the Scriptures, 5. and that he appeared to Peter, and then to the Twelve. 6. After that, he appeared to more than five hundred of the brothers at the same time, most of whom are still living, though some have fallen asleep. 7. Then he appeared to James, then to all the apostles, 8. and last of all he appeared to me also, as to one abnormally born.
9. For I am the least of the apostles and do not even deserve to be called an apostle, because I persecuted the church of God. 10. But by the grace of God I am what I am, and his grace to me was not without effect. No, I worked harder than all of them--yet not I, but the grace of God that was with me. 11. Whether, then, it was I or they, this is what we preach, and this is what you believed. (1 Corinthians 15:1-11)
7. Therefore Jesus said again, "I tell you the truth, I am the gate for the sheep. 8. All who ever came before me were thieves and robbers, but the sheep did not listen to them. 9. I am the gate; whoever enters through me WILL BE SAVED. He will come in and go out, and find pasture. 10. The thief comes only to STEAL and KILL and DESTROY; I have come that they may have LIFE, and have it to the FULL. (John 10:7-10)
1 Brothers, my heart's desire and prayer to God for the Israelites is that they may be saved. 2 For I can testify about them that they are zealous for God, but their zeal is not based on knowledge. 3 Since they did not know the righteousness that comes from God and sought to establish their own, they did not submit to God's righteousness. 4 Christ is the end of the law so that there may be righteousness for everyone who believes.
5 Moses describes in this way the righteousness that is by the law: "The man who does these things will live by them." 6 But the righteousness that is by faith says: "Do not say in your heart, 'Who will ascend into heaven?'" (that is, to bring Christ down) 7 "or 'Who will descend into the deep?'" (that is, to bring Christ up from the dead). 8 But what does it say? "The word is near you; it is in your mouth and in your heart," that is, the word of faith we are proclaiming: 9 That if you confess with your mouth, "Jesus is Lord," and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. 10 For it is with your heart that you believe and are justified, and it is with your mouth that you confess and are saved. 11 As the Scripture says, "Anyone who trusts in him will never be put to shame." 12 For there is no difference between Jew and Gentile--the same Lord is Lord of all and richly blesses all who call on him, 13 for, "Everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved." (Romans 10:1-13)
Jesus came to bring spiritual LIFE to the spiritually dead and set the captives FREE! FREE from RELIGION, ERROR and outright LIES, so WE might serve THE LIVING GOD! In SPIRIT and in TRUTH!
So you'll KNOW, and not think you're to bad for God to love. The Christian LIFE isn't about how good WE are, because NONE of us are! It's about how GOOD JESUS IS! Because JESUS LOVES US, so much he died in our place and took the punishment for all of our sins on himself. The wages of sin is DEATH, and Jesus took the death WE so richly deserved for us and died in our place. The good news is, there's no more punishment for sin left. WE, you and I were all born forgive as a result of the crucifixion of God himself on the cross that took away the sins of the whole world. All we have to do is believe it, and put your Faith in the finished work of Jesus Christ. That my friends is REAL UNCONDITIONAL LOVE! YOU ARE LOVED. ❤️ ✝️ ❤️

As I put up this photo there is a hard rain steadily falling and all is grey .. obstinate leaves have few remaining strongholds that will fall within the week. Not terribly cold (44*F) .. but though a new mirror in my camera is calling for exercise I cannot raise desire to plunge into the wet ... I am grateful for the sure dependable seasons .... All things in the Lords time.
This cute freakin' bikini was a really generous gift, and I just wanted to express my gratitude <3

This Studebaker didn't dream it would be retiring in such a harsh land, having to survive hot summer heat and cold, cold winters on the Canadian prairies of Saskatchewan.
Put on the old car coat, cruise the Rambler to the grocery store, fill up the cart with food, and rush home in time to make dinner for the kids and that hungry working man. Welcome to the mundane life of a woman during the American Gray Flannel era. And don't forget to have the house tidy.
Image imagined in MidJourney AI and finished with Lightroom Classic.
Put my big 600m Tamron lens on a tripod and attached a natty bit of kit I have called Camera Ranger2. This communicates wirelessly with my iPad or iPhone and has a range of 150 feet. I was able to sit inside my house, wait for the birds to arrive and trigger the capture button on the iPad. Not happy with the result but it was blowing hard from the sea and there was lots of movement. There, that's my excuse. Better luck next time.
My second Space Truck. This time it's actually long enough to be a SHIP, but just a little late for Shiptember...
Put some Rollei 400 Infra Red into the Bronica today to shoot some mono - Needless to say the sun went in fairly quickly
Put on the M43 Olympus Pen Mini E-PM2 camera. Dallmeyer Speed Anastigmat 25mm f1.5 make no noticable vigneting and is a pleasure to use. It looses almost all crazinest and swirl of the bokeh. It still looses sharpness out of the center of the frame.

A high voltage transmission tower adjacent to the Batman Bridge north of Launceston, Tasmania.
I was trying to get a good angle on of the bridge, but there are these trees in the way of all the shots I had in my head. Then I noticed this transmission tower right next to it, and you can just walk right beneath it! Perfect!
Each and every person puts off positive energy. Some more than others. I know I find much of my inspiration as an artist to create and share from other people. It doesn't matter if they're an artist or not. Through sharing ideas, be it in words, images or music, my friends shine in their own way, which in turn helps me guide myself along my own creative path. Sometimes you have to venture down paths alone and have faith in yourself that you can do it, that you're creative light is just as important as another. That it's OK to make mistakes and go down the wrong path every once and a while. It is there we sometimes learn valuable life lessons that help us in the future to not make these kinds of decisions again.
I've come to realize that it will always be easier to copy, criticize or destroy something, than it is to create something. And sometimes we don't know which is the best way to go. But I think that if we stay positive and understand that there are people out there that can help you get where you want to go, then it's a lot easier to follow light of your heart. The light that you've had your whole life. The light that helps you make your own decisions and gives you the strength to keep creating.
Note to all you out there who actually read --- normally I write these things and later delete them. I've always thought that pictures can have a higher meaning if the person looking at them can look a little deeper into the images through the words of the person that created it.

I photographed this beautiful flower at the annual show put on by the San Diego Epiphyllum Society. My wife grows these flowers at home so we always attend the show if we're in town.
Lighting: Lit with a Yongnuo manual flash in an 8.6 inch Lastolite soft box hand held at camera right. Fill light is from a mirror at camera left. The flash was triggered by a Yongnuo RF-603N.

I love this metal Violin keychain, with tiny gems on its bridge. I bought it from the Symphony Hall, Birmingham but didn't feel to put my keys on it because it's VERY beautiful!
So, I put this gorgeous keychain on my black coloured table and closed my eyes... I feel like the violinist "Niccolo Paganini" playing his violin in my room.

Originally put up in 1933, along Commonwealth Avenue near its more famous cousin, the Citgo Sign in Kenmore Square, the Spectacular Shell sign today marks the Magazine Shell Station at the corner of Magazine Street and Memorial Drive since 1944 and today uses LED's rather than traditional neon. Leiden .....The Netherlands 2018
This is Molen de Put in Leiden. It is a wooden corn mill replica only 30 years of age.
The original mill dates back to 1619 and was owned by Jan Janszoon Put. The first mill burnt down in 1640, rebuilt in 1729 and destroyed again 1817. The octagonal mill foundation was later discovered in 1982 and reconstructed again in 1986 made possible through fundraising campaign among the population of Leiden.
