I've loved this photo since the moment I took it. It's just taken me a while to find the right edit and the right alignment so that it looked semetrical in my eye. It's pretty far from the original photo at this point and leagues better than my last edit.

Pushing out Air North 570 this evening for an on-time departure back to Whitehorse. I am proud to say I am now apart of the fantastic team at Air North in Vancouver!
A look at some of the more fun intersecting lines of the Chaney Grain Elevator. Thought about going B&W or monochrome, but as you all know, I'm a sucker for red, white, and blue.
Now, since every single time I opened this to work on it my computer crashed...this is all I'm posting tonight. Even doing that makes me nervous. What if it breaks the internet?
If so, I apologize in advance.
Here is the second part to my portrait shoot from the weekend. This and the other images were all taken outside my friends house using natural light only. They council were doing some bushfire burning so the sky was filled with a heavy smoke cloud. Surprisingly it gave the light a very warm feel to it which helped make these stand out even more.
Being that my friend was posing on the road, I had to as well. We had to wait for no cars then I would lay down flat on my stomach just to get the first three images from the right perspective.
The weather this past week left us with snow on the mountains to match the snow topped almond orchards still in full bloom. In order to combat freezing temperatures in the orchards, sprinklers were left running througout the night resulting in a different kind of winter wonderland with icicles dripping from the trees in the morning light.
The photo below was taken this morning at Llano Seco looking west towards the Mendocino Mountain Range. Duck activity was light at the refuge but literally thousands of snow geese took to the air as we were leaving. They later passed our house, high overhead, noisily heading north.
The AFT to Dry Creek North transfer movement has just dropped off the one rail loading in Dry Creek North on 14-11-21 and G538 with a few flats and G542 pull through to North end of the yard where they will change ends before heading to Islington Works to drop the empty flats off.
The DPU on this coal empty pushes the train westward to Wyoming. Appears an EB shot here would work as well.
A frustrating morning spent trying to keep the filters and lens free of spray while dodging waves. Needles to say I got caught out a few times.

Another real display of love as a dad pushes his little son in this cute red cart in our local park. Both have their heads turned and seem to be looking at something with great interest.

I have not been feeling well the past couple of weeks. A head cold thing. But, I had to push through it today and get myself out. I had an item finally arrive (I ordered it in January) and a new consignment store opened up and I hadn't been to my usual dress store for ages and I needed to do some new photos. Push. I did. I pushed myself. I know I did not have my best happy face and I have certainly looked better but I pushed myself. This is not what I wore out but it is what I left the dress store in. The blouse and pants are from the dress store (funny but they don't look like a dress) and the yellow jacket/cover is from the consignment store. I changed at the dress store before heading out to do some photos. It was a gorgeous evening in my city, no wind and a perfect +15C I had a wonderful time being out and visible. It did in fact make me feel better. When in doubt...PUSH..
A trio of manned helper dash 9s push this manifest uphill at Steelton. Probably the closest you'll get to mountain railroading in the midwest.
With more exhaust than the Duchess, the 47 provides assistance and the 'Christmas White Rose' gets moving from what must have been a signal check, Retford, 17.12.15.
I started out my second and final morning in Altoona on the 8th Street bridge. It being early in the morning, I was obviously waiting for an eastbound I could race up to McFarlane's Curve, but 35A was first, pushing out westbound while I waited for one going east.
This weekend I went to my sister's soccer game. It was 85 degrees and even hotter on the turf field, but those girls were in it to win it.
Trying to do the same and push to the finish, I have a little over a week of intensive work before I come home for the summer.
Oh, and I was cheering for the red team. :)
