After botching a shot in Rantoul, we were left unsure of how to continue shooting our triplet of interesting power on CN A407. I made the decision to just shoot South Paxton last second, just because there were no shots for a good while afterwards, and I wasn't interested in another overhead shot in town - the trench is cool, but I just wasn't feeling it for this time around.
Last year saw the signals here at South Paxton get replaced. Previously, a tri-light style signal guarded the main and a three-headed dwarf sat on the siding, but these were quietly replaced with modern SafeTran Vaders. The previous signals weren't exactly vintage or particularly fancy, but they were more interesting than what remains here now. I never had good luck shooting them, or South Paxton in general, but this time I just went wide and tried to see what I could get. Can't complain too much, really, especially when we get some tinges of fall colours with it.
IC1000/IC1019/CN2441 head up the daily Centralia-Gary slop freight, with the C40-8M dead-in-tow.
Who says the empire has no sense for peace and harmony? Directly after blowing up some rebel-planets Lord Vader pushed another button and the big pre-X-mas party on the Death Star was offically declared open!
The lights are not edited. If you look cloesly you can see red wires... they are from some weird wire-x-mas-tree I got some years ago :-)
When I took this shot of two DPU's pushing a heavy and long MRVRO (Roseville, CA to Salt Lake City - Roper Yard Manifest) at Yuba Gap, I could not help but think of Geico's annoying commercial with Salt and Pepa singing "Push it." Well, the two C45's were pushing real good on this train. The struggle would continue for another hour, until the train hit tunnel 41 at Norden.

Taken from a Monterey Bay boat ride. Finally decided to do some shooting with something other than my lensbaby :)
After pushing the black 5 from Bristol to Par the 37 takes a breather as the Royal Duchy railtour crawls past Cockwood harbour with the return leg of the tour with the 1A50 Par to Bristol Temple Meads.
JS8225 pushes back an empty coal train to the open pit via Dongbolizhan to collect another load of coal from the loader.
Dana is excited as she just signed as a fitness model with an agency! We did a few shots for her new portfolio!
