I'm using another Ilford monochrome simulation today. HP5 Plus 400 is/was a beautiful film for pushing beyond the normal ISO.

With a friendly wave from the conductor, a C30-7/B30-7 pusher set is wide open as it shoulders into a southbound 90-car loaded coal train at Big Stone Gap, Virginia in June 1992. The train is on the connection track (and bridge) linking the ex-L&N Cumberland Valley Subdivision to the Southern Railway Appalachia District on the other side of the Powell River.
The original L&N main to Norton, Virginia, out of service since 1987, can be seen on the left. C30-7 7053 is a former Seaboard Coast Line unit, and the B30-7 is of C&O heritage.

Before the skies opened up I grabbed a few cell phone shots through the fence of the Air China Cargo 747-400F at North East cargo at O'Hare.
After botching a shot in Rantoul, we were left unsure of how to continue shooting our triplet of interesting power on CN A407. I made the decision to just shoot South Paxton last second, just because there were no shots for a good while afterwards, and I wasn't interested in another overhead shot in town - the trench is cool, but I just wasn't feeling it for this time around.
Last year saw the signals here at South Paxton get replaced. Previously, a tri-light style signal guarded the main and a three-headed dwarf sat on the siding, but these were quietly replaced with modern SafeTran Vaders. The previous signals weren't exactly vintage or particularly fancy, but they were more interesting than what remains here now. I never had good luck shooting them, or South Paxton in general, but this time I just went wide and tried to see what I could get. Can't complain too much, really, especially when we get some tinges of fall colours with it.
IC1000/IC1019/CN2441 head up the daily Centralia-Gary slop freight, with the C40-8M dead-in-tow.
A management crews pushes their train out along the Fraser Surrey Lead on their way back to New Westminster. The Fraser Surrey Lead follows Timberland road for a good distance, with the pavement coming right up to the tracks... Sometimes a little too close for comfort!

Greater Anglia Class 90 90012 "Royal Anglian Regiment" on the rear of a London Liverpool Street to Norwich service passes Newton Flotman level crossing.
