O70: Pick your own Photoshop Tutorial and DO IT!
The Puppet Warp function in Photoshop CS5 sounded so intriguing, that I had to try it. I mostly followed the information in this video.
It was harder than it looked. My difficulties started with my model. For the longest time, I could not get Scout to stand with her feet apart. When I finally got a photo that looked somewhat decent, I had a hard time getting the Content Aware fill to actually fill awarely. So I had to reshoot the uncooperative model in an even plainer background. (And even then the Content Aware fill had issues. I ended up cloning away bad fill areas--and doing a shoddy job at that, too.)
It's not the best photoshop job, but heck, considering how many times I tried and failed using this technique, I'm pretty darn pleased with the result.

Puppet Show” – DIGITAL COLOR SERIES
These images portray a world hung on strings, figures pulled in different directions by a seemingly invisible hand, de-saturated to appear unreal. The stage is the frame from which we look into, or the frame shows ownership of the figures within it. In this series of work a figure, or rather a human doll is put on display in a world “controlled” and examined by a probing puppeteer. The hand is the master and the world is set upon a stage for all to see. Figures put on a show within the confines of the dimension created by others; their true reflection being that of a human doll. Found images were then used for the purpose of explaining the world as premade and we, the figures, are merely a “doll” to dance around within it.
Meet the Snow Lion, a mythical beast from Tibetan Buddhist Folklore. Snow Lions are white with a green mane. This mane was made using a really cool green yarn--very textural.

This picture is from a session I did at CopyCamp on using puppets as a role playing aid. I wanted to mix a video but we got a little crazy and didn't make a whole lot of sence. So I grabbed stills from the video.

Dinesh, the puppeteer, entertained the audience with this short and sweet act at the landing of the Ropeway at Mata Karni Temple in Udaipur.

This was the stage setting for the Anne Frank story that was performed entirely with puppets. Unfortunately, they did not allow photography during the performance. Through the veil you can see the house where most of the action took place...it was basically a huge doll house that opened up and rotated during the different scenes....
