A Puppet Interlude II
A solo exhibition by Chaiyot Jindagun
January 12 - February 14, 2009
Opening reception: Monday, January 12, 7-9 pm.
BANGKOK, BKK (November 17, 2008) - ArtGorillas ArtGallery is pleased to present A Puppet interlude II, a solo exhibition of new work by Chaiyot Jindagun. This show is a sequel to his earlier show at the beginning of 2008, where the artist continually depicts details from fantastic realms of Thai fine arts across the time through the imaginary life of the royal puppets or Thai traditional puppets.
In A Puppet Interlude II, the artist expresses his concern on vanishing Thai ancient heritage by bringing the puppets in his paintings to life through different gestures, the look in their eyes, that seemed to interact with the perplexed surroundings. This incredibly adds emotional sensation of the past and nowness , hence, reflects the immortality and volubility of Thai fine arts.
Chaiyot Jindagun graduated from Faculty of Painting , Sculpture, and Graphic Arts, Silpakorn University in 2007. Originally from Ubon Ratchathani, the artist is now living and working in Bangkok.
