An orange pumpkin lit with a single flash light from the side.
As I do not have the proper equipment for decoupling my external Cullmann MC 30 flash from my camera, I just set the camera exposure time to 1/2 second and pressed the flash's test button during the exposure time. Because I was in a completely dark room, the flash was the only light source.
This batch of pumpkins didn't have the traditional orange color, but were pale orange in color. Taken at the WNC Farmer's Market in Asheville, NC

One of three small pumpkins from the place where Steve gets his produce. Two cups worth are earmarked for a cupcake recipe, and Steve will be getting more for a pumpkin ice cream. Bonus: pumpkin seeds!

Some news outlets are reporting a pumpkin shortage this year in the region due to a cold and wet spring. I have noticed pumpkin patches and my pumpkin cart in Ray Township looking a little thinner than normal.
I think this is the first year I didn't get a pumpkin. I guess there is still time! I usually get one and disect it with my class. We talk about the seeds and play with the gooey insides!
