I photographed this 6 years ago did some editing with new software

Strange-looking pumpkins at Dallas Arboretum and Botanical Garden (I think these are pumpkins -- I guess they don't all have to be orange). They look somewhat colorless (perhaps more of a very light grey) but nevertheless interesting to me because of their unusual look.

Imagine what people thought seeing me like this...

SEPTA performed quite a bit of major work on its Doylestown branch in 1985, and employed an Amtrak work train for some of the job. Here two “pumpkins” run around their train just short of the end of the branch in Doylestown, Pennsylvania.

I've been looking through my photos for a good Halloween pic, and I stumbled on this one from 2017 in Borneo. It's a tiny (4-5 mm.) jumping spider with an excellent Jack-o'-lantern on its head. Happy Halloween, and Happy Arachtober!

Style me Rotten would like to wish you a Happy Holidays! (We've also been here for 2 years now, yay!)

We made it to a pumpkin patch yesterday.

I agree that constraints help spur creativity. Today I ended up playing with a bunch of different subjects but came back to work on my bees. Again working close up with the 36mm extension tube on my 100mm macro lens. There was a bit of sunlight I was able to coax onto this large pumpkin blossom. The bees in this blossom were in like a drunken stupor and didn't move like the others I encountered. They were less inclined to move much which made it easier to work. I love the hairy details of the blossom and the balls of pollen on the bees legs.

Thanks for visiting, hope you aren't getting bored or grossed out by all of the bees. I'm a big fan of bees but not wasps, yellow jackets, earwigs, spiders, flies, or mice. Oh, and update on the mice, we did catch one in a trap. Feeling a bit better about life but just wish all the pests would stay outside and I wouldn't have to be bothered with them.

I no longer throw my pumpkins in the compost. lol the squirrels love them:) ❤️

For Macro Mondays' "Halloween" Theme.

The wasn’t much light left when I drove past this pumpkin patch, and I was so excited with the scene that I jumped out of my car and ran down the road looking for a shot. Someone from the nearby farmhouse thought I was going to steal pumpkins and yelled, “Stay away from my pumpkins!”. When she saw that I was just going to photograph them, we both had a good laugh.
