been a fair bit of rain about, it was lucky for Biscuit and I to take this morning walk and remain dry :-)
Night shoot at MCAS Cherry Point. I, or actually Colin, found a puddle which made everything so much more interesting.
This puddle was taken looking directly down onto a flat pavement at my "big day at the car wash". Not sure why it gives the illusion of a back wall and a rounding foreground, or it could just be me :-)
This is a photo of a puddle of rainwater on a flat surface of concrete. I positioned myself so that the sun is reflected in the puddle.
I've been wanting to use a quote by e e cummings for ages - "The world is mud-luscious and puddle-wonderful" - but I'm too impatient to wait until the right shot comes along...

Thank you to everyone who stopped by this weekend at Puddle! It was great meeting everyone, and you were all so kind! Definitely a great event this year, I'm already looking forward to the next one!
This series of images were taken because I was captivated by the quality of the light reflected off of the puddle and through the frozen blades of grass. As I looked closer in the puddle seemed to change and take on a a sense of something much bigger as if it were a lake or a world in itself.
Yesterday we had the first real rain of the season, and I took the dog out to explore once it stopped raining. This is the first puddle I have seen in months. I have to say I have to get used to getting mud on my shoes again. I need to find my rain boots.
Nov 8th addition: I returned a couple days later and the puddle was almost dry at that point. But today will be filled with solid rain, probably the most precipitation so far in the season, so I will have to see what it looks like by late today.

A light wind ripples the surface of a puddle that is reflecting the yellow leaves of the maple trees in Fall color above it.

The driving car 51941 of Class 108 DMU waits for the road at Highley with the 1440 to Kidderminster.
This multiple unit looked great and inspired me to try a well worn creative technique of getting down low for a puddle reflection shot.
Luckily the platform was wet and i got damp patches on my knees.
