Watching the 'well dowsed in Brandy' pudding as it burns. That pudding had quite a kick to it still when it came to the eating! =)
I like "pudding" wine. Sometimes called desert wines, they are very sweet, reminiscent of liqueurs but without the syrup effect. On this occassion I learned that that the grapes used are hand picked, selected just before they go squidgy or mouldy. Explains the price!

My Uncle Ted (aka. Pudding Ted) always makes the best desserts. Since he suffers from Coeliac disease, everything he makes is gluten-free. Gluten certainly isn't necessary to make insanely delicious desserts!!! This almond brittle chocolate ice cream bombe and upside down apple cake are two of his masterpieces :)

The choc pudding is supposed to be served with a crispy topping but I just added some sweet pitted cherries (from the tin) and some cream. Thought the cherry-choc combo was fantastic. Read recipe here:

This is a tablerunner I made for myself. I rarely get to make anything for myself. It is made with the figgy pudding fabric for Moda by basic grey using the blue, white & brown fabrics. This is the second tumbler pattern that I have made and I really like it! I have 2 more pieced together and ready to quilt that I will be posting on etsy soon.

Goldstein's bread pudding was easy enough for a five year old to make (or so says Ms. Darra, whose daughter apparently makes it a lot), so I threw it together without hardly thinking about it on Sunday morning. I figured I was on a roll with pudding for breakfast, and with the rather breakfasty ingredients contained herein--eggs, milk, currants, bread--I figured it would be healthy enough. It definitely wasn't bad, though the sugar made it extremely rich and cloying. I did like how the pudding's simplicity helped the vanilla and cinnamon within it to really shine; the vanilla was especially nice, adding an almost liqueur-like complexity to the dish.
Fresh corn pudding with basil. Lightened this up by taking out 2 egg yolks and using 1 2/3 cups 2% milk instead of 1 cup whole milk and 1 cup cream. Still totally delicious and a great use of a summer veggie and herb that reach their peak at the same time.
