Just got my first AB800! Ive never used these types of lights before. (So go easy on me) Took the lights to work and took a bunch of portraits of people I work with at the news paper.
Can't wait to really learn how to use the light so I can finally take these ideas that are in my head and turn them into a reality.
I would love some feedback from anyone who works with lights. Can't wait to start pumping some new photos out!

Homework assignment: with the lens on manual focus, set the focus to the shortest possible distance, then focus your subject by moving the camera. (I think we're doing this as something to help understand macro photography in this week's class.)
That's harder to do than it sounds. It' harder yet with a camera shy cat who is actively moving around and trying real hard not to look at the camera.

Rice pudding is my ultimate comfort food. Simple, unfussy, and satisfying to the soul. The first time I made this I also served up the caramelized apples that Dorie specifies in her recipe book; while they were nice, I think I'm a rice pudding purist. It needs no enhancement.

Pudding just went to the vet for his repeat consultation today. He has a mysterious fur loss on his back! :'( He wasn't responsive to his previous medication (keto susp), and there aren't mites in his skin scrape. Poor boy. He already lost 6g! He got an anti-itch jab, and we'll have to see how it goes. :(
