An early evening shot of the Foley Arms taken when Rog and I visited Streetly in December 2005 - the glowing inflatable Santa tells you that Christmas isn't too far away! We called into the pub for a well-earned pint before catching the 377 bus back towards Walsall.
The Bridge Inn at Topsham in Devon is a delightful 16th century pub which retains the atmosphere of a bygone era. There are no fruit machines, no piped music, just good quality beer, bar meals and a friendly atmosphere from staff and locals. The pub which sits next to the River Clyst has been run by the same family for over 100 years. The pub has even had a visit from The Queen some years ago.
Tudor House Built in 1603 , Lower Bridge Street, Chester. One of the oldest houses in Chester!
Its likely ownership by one of Chester’s wealthy merchants when the city was one of England’s largest ports.
In the 1800s it was called the Britannia Inn
.
Tudor House as got a ghost!!!!!
Church Street, Burlington, Vermont USA • Building sign for popular local watering hole, the Vermont Pub & Brewery (1988), reflected in it's glass roof below; at the corner of Cherry & Pine Streets.
☞ Part of a series of photos documenting my new home & neighborhood, in the heart of Vermont's largest town: Burlington 05401. • After almost a dozen years in rural Cornwall, 40 miles to the south, I have moved to one of the true outposts of optimism, on the eastern shore of Lake Champlain (the 6th Great Lake).

Confusingly, this is not actually the brewery tap for Brentwood Brewery — that's the White Horse at Coxtie Green.
September 2013 saw me seeking out photo opportunities around Aldridge, with the Struggling Monkey on Northgate being a potential target. I did track the pub down and discovered it was in the process of being rebranded as the Lime Kiln, with builders hard at work and a new sign already in place.

I've taken the wife for a walk to the pub to try to encourage this baby out on the due date (which I have in the sweepstake). The walk will do her good and the beer likewise for me.
The Balmoral Pub on Dalry Road, Edinburgh caught fire just after midnight. These images are from a couple of hours later at around 2am when the fire was still not under control. 20 residents from above the pub had to be rescued.
It was only the next morning that it was realised how bad the fire was after it was announced that the first Edinburgh fireman in living memory was killed after the ground floor collapsed into the basement. One other firefighter was injured.
