This photo was inspired by the First Amendment of the Constitution. We are allowed to speak our minds and the media can publish their opinions because of this. While as a nation we are divided, it is a blessing we can all have our own opinion. This is representative of a study from a news outlet about how others get their news.
This photograph was published in the Illustrated Chronicle 12 Aug 1916 p11.
During the Great War the Illustrated Chronicle published photographs of soldiers and sailors from Newcastle and the North East of England, which had been in the news. The photographs were sent in by relatives and give us a glimpse into the past.
The physical collection held by Newcastle Libraries comprises bound volumes of the newspaper from 1910 to 1925. We are keen to find out more about the people in the photographs. If you recognise anyone in the images and have any stories and information to add please comment below.

received my copy of "Philadelphia Originals" today in the mail. back in the spring, Joseph Glantz contacted me asking to use my phanatic shot in his book. i said sure, and here it is, on page 249! this is my first photo published.. feels good :)

In 1997 I started what was supposed to be a fairly simple project surveying bird usage of the Nanaimo River Estuary. Little did I know that this project would take almost 10 years to conduct the surveys, write the report, and get it published. I also never dreamed that I would end up nearly getting myself killed by angry poachers in the process.
While I was away doing field work this summer, it finally got published thanks to Neil Dawe's persistence, and the Nature Trust of BC's generosity. 127 pages of really boring bird stats. It's not the novel I imagined I might write someday back when I was 20 years old, but at least I survived to see it published.

Una leggenda dell'heavy metal. Pura energia che scaturisce dai palchi che calcano. I Judas Priest trasformano l'Assago Arena del Postepay Milano Summer Festival nel regno dell'heavy metal il 23 giugno.
La loro musica, puro heavy metal al 100%, rinvigorisce il panorama rock dal lontano 1969, quando si formarono a Birmingham, in Inghilterra.
I Judas Priest hanno avuto grande influenza su molte band heavy metal, sono stati tra i fondatori del movimento NWOBHM ed hanno influenzato la maggior parte delle band thrash metal della fine degli anni '80 in termini di suono e tecnica. Il loro sound è stato descritto come "una fusione tra la pesantezza dei Black Sabbath e la raffinatezza dei Deep Purple, con anche un tocco di Led Zeppelin."
I Judas Priest sono un gruppo musicale heavy metal britannico, formatosi nel 1969 nella città di Birmingham. Sono considerati tra i massimi esponenti del genere e moltissimi gruppi li hanno considerati importanti per la loro musica, assimilandone lo stile e le ritmiche. Nell'arco della loro carriera, hanno pubblicato sedici album, hanno venduto oltre 50 milioni di copie in tutto il mondo e sono stati definiti "Metal Gods" (Dei del Metal).
