Il frontman dei Supergrass Gaz Coombes arriva in Italia il 7 marzo 2023 a Milano a Santeria Toscana 31.
A quasi cinque anni di distanza da “World’s Strongest Man”, l’artista britannico torna il 13 gennaio, con il suo quarto LP solista, “Turn The Car Around”.
Il disco racchiude il viaggio creativo di Gaz Coombes e dove si sta dirigendo, uno straordinario album di un artista nel mezzo di una macchina creativa. “L'unica cosa che mi ha davvero nutrito negli ultimi dieci anni è l'idea di evolvermi come artista, evolvendo la mia scrittura per andare avanti”, afferma Coombes “È un album che parla di sentimenti, che cattura gli alti e bassi della vita moderna e tutte le piccole sfumature che stanno nel mezzo”.
Scritto e registrato da Coombes nel suo studio nell’Oxfordshire, l’album attinge sia alle tavolozze sonore che ai temi degli album precedenti e segna la terza e ultima parte di una trilogia, insieme a “Matador” del 2015 e a “World’s Strongest Man” del 2018.
“Turn The Car Around” include i featuring di Willie J Healey e Loz Colbert dei Ride ed è co-prodotto da Coombes e dal suo collaboratore di lunga data Ian Davenport.
Ad anticiparne l’uscita il primo singolo, “Don’t Say It’s Over”, accompagnato da un video diretto da Tom Cockram.
Gaz ha pubblicato il suo debutto da solista, “Here Come the Bombs”, nel 2012, appena due anni dopo lo scioglimento dai Supergrass dimostrandosi un cantautore pop pronto ad esplorare nuovi territori senza affidare la sua fedeltà alla melodia.

We celebrate light in our pictures. Understanding how light interacts with the camera is paramount to the work we do. The temperature, intensity and source of light can wield different photography effect on the same subject or scene; add ISO, aperture and speed, the camera, the lens type, focal length and filters…the combination is varied and multi-layered and if you know how to use them all, you will come to appreciate that all lights are useful, even those surrounded by a lot of darkness.
We are guided by three passions, simple but overwhelmingly strong, our longing to capture in print, that which is beautiful, the constant search for the one picture, and constant barrage of new equipment and style of photography. These passions, like great winds, have blown us across the globe in search of the one and we do understand the one we do look for might be this picture right here for someone else out there.
