Am Donnerstag, den 2. Oktober, um 17 Uhr versammelten sich 40 Aktivst*innen vom Berliner Aktionsbündnis der Kampagne "Atomwaffen - ein Bombengeschäft" vor der Commerzbank um gegen die Investition in Atomwaffen zu protestieren.
Vor der Commerzbank Flagship Filiale, Kurfürstendamm 237, wurde darauf hingewiesen, dass die Commerzbank der zweitgrößte für Nuklearwaffen in Deutschland ist. Der Commerzbank soll klar gemacht werden, dass diese Investitionen in Atomwaffen weder von der Gesellschaft, noch von den Kunden der Commerzbank akzeptiert werden.

Media reports claim up to 27,000 Red Shirts participated in the political rally on Sunday 23 January 2011.
The demonstration started at the Ratchaprasong junction (just by CentralWorld - and my hotel...) at 1pm. Then, around 3pm, the protestors started to march towards Democracy Monument, where they intended to stay until midnight.
Red Shirts = United Front for Democracy Against Dictatorship (UDD) and are against the government currently in power.
The rally meant that the Education UK exhibition was cancelled today, meaning an unexpected day off. So decided to check out the march, armed with my iPhone camera!

Protest rally called by Mining Dependents at Kranti Circle, KTC Panaji on 19.3.18. Supreme Court stopped all mining activities effective 16.3.18 after cancelling all mining permits. Over 60 students, professors and community members held a protest rally outside US Senator Dave McCormick's Philadelphia office on Nov. 7.
The members of progressive groups and labor unions, alongside PA State Representative Rick Krajewski and Philadelphia City Council member Nicolas O'Rourke, were part of a nationwide day of coordinated protests at over 100 US locations, aiming to “organize millions of students to disrupt business as usual and force our schools and our political system to finally work for us” instead of billionaires.
Planned by Students Rise Up, in coordination with the American Association of University Professors (AAUP) and Higher Education Labor United (HELU), the demonstrations were "the first in a series of nationwide days of protests leading up to student strikes and worker actions on May Day 2026, according to national organizers.
In addition to the unions, national groups backing the effort include Campus Climate Network, College Democrats of America, Gen-Z for Change, Indivisible, Jewish Voice for Peace, March for Our Lives, and Sunrise Movement, whose executive director, Aru Shiney-Ajay, stressed in a Tuesday statement that “everyone deserves an accessible, affordable, and quality education.”
