Stumbled upon this protest in Westminster today. I had gone for the General Inspection of Changing of the Guard but never got past this unreconstructed facet of the labour movement with its dinosaurs (Corbyn, Abbott) hairy bearded older gents (and ladies too) Although as a disabled pensioner I empathise.
Berkeley protests against police brutality in response to Ferguson and Eric Garner decision - 12/6/2014
They are there everyday. I remember way back when the war started in 2003, there was a city-wide walk-out planned for the high schools. I was gonna do it, but I unfortunately had a cello lesson that day and couldn't. I remember my seventh-hour earth science teacher telling me, "If I weren't teaching this class right now, I'd walk out with you." Bah, long time ago. Stuff doesn't change. Weeee.

Thousands of protesters marched through downtown Chicago on Sunday in one of the city's largest demonstrations in years, airing grievances about war, climate change and a wide range of other complaints as world leaders assembled for a NATO summit.
The protest, which for months had stirred worries about violence in the streets, drew together a broad assortment of participants, including peace activists joining with war veterans and people more focused on economic inequality.
Hundreds of protesters gathered late Sunday night near the Art Institute of Chicago as first lady Michelle Obama hosted a dinner for spouses of NATO leaders inside. At least 100 Chicago police officers in riot gear were also at the scene.
I have nothing good to say about the OSPCA. I'd love to see them gone from the Toronto Humane Society, but they've been there for months and hold all the power. They held a meeting for the staff and the volunteers this past week and told us a lot of lies.
The battle with the THS is all a political bunch of garbage. So, we protested. There weren't many of us at the protest, but we were heard and got some press.
Subconsciously, everyone is protesting against something. In photography, there are those who are against mobile photography to be a legitimate form of photography or art form. Of course those who got denied will fight for their rights. But 1 funny thing I've learnt is that some of these people who've got denied are in turn denying desktop photoshop to be a legitimate editing tool. The reason is being mobile photography should consist of things done only within the mobile tools. It's like slapping their own face because if this is the reason, then others could well said that photography should be done only with a 'real' camera and not from a phone. Another thing I've learnt is that everything is valid in their own rights. So to me, all these 'protests' are quite redundant. They're dividing people up to take sides, instead of gathering all to share how nice the end product, the pictures can be. For me, I'll use whatever that'll make my picture looks nice and that's all it matters.
