Egyptian props displayed at The Mummy ride in Universal Studios Florida.

My dream trip would be to go to Cairo, but it is never going to happen. I did see the Tut exhibit in Munich, Germany many many moons ago.... simply something I will never forget. Saw it at a time when original artifacts were on tour, before exhibition travel caused further damage to some of the pieces.

Lindsey and I collect mini versions of these props.

Well now that I have your attention, I wanted tell you all about the amazing time I had with some of my Flickr friends on Saturday. It was just an ordinary day in LA until our group hit the street for shooting. Jamie won the award for traveling the furthest from New Jersey and most of us had never met before in person. We decided to all get some props for shooting from this old store in South Pasadena to make the day fun and interesting. The props ranged from monster dolls to old film slides but three of us got these old doll heads. I had so much fun shooting this doll head that it has inspired me to create a new group. The 3 traveling doll heads. The group will only contain shots of the 3 original doll heads as they travel around the world. This one will be heading to SF this weekend and then off to NY. If you'd like it sent to you for shooting, just send an e-mail and we'll be sure it gets sent to you. Crazy? Maybe, but it's a blast.

This shot is of the doll head on a bench in Chinatown. Perfect for bench Monday.

Yes, a bench is a good prop. A plank also!

And so - on a beautiful sunny sunday afternoon...

This is the plank, where I shot this photo for the last now you class:

Friend Lori Dorman sent me this wonderful prop to test. She is creating a site for newborn and child props for photographers. Sweet Lulu Life... Props and other fun stuff for fanciful photographers! When she has it completed I will post her website so you can see all her fun props!

And of course this is my sweet Elsie on day 20.

Universal opened up a new shop in the park, selling movie props from their studios. It was an awesome shop, and yes, I did buy something. Each of these horror character busts are $550.00, and no, I didn't buy one of these, lol.

Another shot using the little propeller I picked up. I bit more focused on my prop this time. Best viewed full screen on black (Press L). Press F to fave and C to comment.

tested out a new prop with a friend's little girl (only 5 days old)

I picked up this little sled for $5 at a botique store. First time using it, and was blessed with a super sleepy little guy!

I've had my eye on this farmstead and silo just south of New Albin for years, and the timing was finally right to work it into a shot.

A 644 sand empty leads a pair of morning southbounds on the Marquette sub. In a few more miles they will take the siding at Kanes to do a crew change and let a following train overtake them.

I found this outside a film production lot that's always full of interesting vehicles… doesn't seem like someone would be driving this rust bucket around. Neat car anyway, a Ford Galaxie 500 from the late 60's / early 70's.

When the facade looks in order / check the backside.

I'm sure many people would consider it extravagant to have a space dedicated to my photo props, but it's the only way I can keep track of them, lol! ;D
