Germany - Lubeck: Marienkirche - St. Mary's Church, built c1250 - c1350; demolished 29 March 1942; rebuilt 1947-1959.

Looking down across the nave where some of the magnificent frescoes can be found, high up under those windows. We will see more of them, tomorrow, which will be our last day here before continuing our exploration of this city.

Around the same time, that a number of medieval frescoes in the church of St Mary's in Lubeck, Germany, were restored. Lubeck's museum director asserted that they would change all previous notions of what a freshly created Gothic brick interior had looked like. The frescoes even made it on to a German postage stamp. Yet, soon, it was revealed that some of the images had been created by a painter who had worked on the restoration. He was treated as a hero, a harmless prankster who had fooled connoisseurs. www.newstatesman.com/200101220010

Hmm, blurry. I didn't realise my phone lens was dirty.

I went to the library at lunch time. As well as books, like many libraries, it is a source of all sorts of information. There is always something going on in Wellington. Today there are two lots of leaflets: one about events in Wellington from mid June to the end of August. the other is the guide for Wellington on a Plate, our festival of food that takes place during the last two weeks of August.

Hear This! tour, Spring 2015

My lunchtime walk took me into Kirks department store (it was cold and blowy outside) and through their Christmas department where these teddies in their Christmassy bed caught my eye.

Room 108, Homestay Hotel, Hounslow

At 10.20pm just after I arrived.

This is the smallest, most cramped twin room I have ever been in. You can see the door handle in the lower left of the picture - I had to stand outside to take this. On the right is the other bed. The 'wardrobe' above the bed is unusable as the giant headboard is in the way. Clearly this was a single room and they shoehorned a second bed into it.

The staff were friendly and helpful, the place was clean and the breakfast was reasonable. There was no air conditioning, which probably isn't usually a problem in London but it's been very hot. It was difficult to sleep, even with the window open.

I'm staying here for two nights with Jae. She is on her way from Heathrow having just flown in from Germany.

Friday, 22nd June 2018.

I emailed my friends and family and asked them in 2 words or less what they thought of me.

Then...a couple glasses of wine, a BIG step outside of my comfort zone, some paint, and an hour and......

Canon EOS REBEL T3i:f/3.5:1/200":18.0mm:ISO 100

This photography was taken at Ponsonby road, Auckland, New Zealand. I saw this man waiting for the bus, he was looking back in forth as if a looking for someone to come around the corner. When I was near passing him the light light up his silhouette and his head suck that I had to press the shutter.

This afternoon I was given the key to my new house - or so the real estate agent told me. But it was The Wrong Key. Two calls to them, they couldn't find the right key, they would not call a locksmith but said I could send them the invoice if I called them. A call to my solicitor at ten to five on a Friday afternoon (thank goodness it wasn't ten past five) and they called the vendor's solicitor who agreed to accept the bill, my solicitor called The Lock Doctor and someone was there within twenty minutes to drill out the old locks and replace them. It took about an hour and a half and it was completely dark before he had finished. I couldn't put the outside light on to light the job for him as the switch is inside and we couldn't get inside.

Meanwhile, the estate agent had called me back demanding I return 'the wrong key' as it was the key to another property (well obviously!) and he needed. I told him he would have to come and get it and could have it when I had access to my property. He turned up while The Lock Doctor was there. Having walked past the van with the logo on, and past my door with the man working on the lock, he told me "we called The Lock Doctor but they said someone was already here". Yeah, right, of course you did (no, I did not believe him). He tried to make conversation but I just gave him the key and walked away.

To make it worse, I had arrived via a lift with a workman who was coming to quote to install a heat pump. Fortunately, he was able to see and measure enough through the back windows to be able to quote.

Various Vintage Wallpaper Projects free to download for personal use.

Each pages is sized to print on A4-paper. If you want smaller calendars/lists, you can print 2 pages per sheet.

I recommend printing onto cardstock for a nice finish, my personal go-to paper is Canon Matte Photo paper (160g).

Alternative Spring Break, 2009. ReachOut trip.

I forced myself out for a walk this lunchtime. I went along the waterfront to the lock lock bridge hoping to get the rest of the clues for the geocache. Unfortunately, that side of the bridge was fenced off (for strengthening, I think).

On the way I spotted an oystercatcher getting a feed of some shellfish on the rocks. I only had my phone camera, not a proper camera so I couldn't get a decent picture.
