We had a prize draw at work with £5000 worth of prizes, unfortunately I had to dress up. It was a great day and a lot of people had a lot of fun.
I don't have a particular "thing" that I'd consider lucky. One can always hope that good fortune will come with opening one of these, though!
Part of a new project I'm embarking on.
Locations shown include: Eyam, Chatsworth, Scarborough, Llandudno, Caernarfon, Cemaes Bay and Southstack
Not really thumbnails. I’m trying to break things into layers and not make the pieces too small. Still a wip but I’m getting use out of these paint pens so ???
This project, titled “2011,” was very sentimental for me— bittersweet moments looking back at who I used to be and how I’ve changed, for better or for worse. The five best photos are memories that I hold, and show no text to represent their purity, while the rest are based on how I view those spaces. These spaces are where my body feels the most emotion, as what you see is what younger me would have seen (a blast from the past), and are consistent throughout the album because of their importance to my development. I then took pages from my first grade school journal, with all her heartfelt honesty, and intertwined them. The bedroom pictures are relatively edited the same because my bedroom hasn’t changed much; I start the day with dappled sunlight. I get more open to experimentation when I exit the room and head outside to the patio, or next door to my grandmother’s house. Her pool holds the most memories, which is why it takes up the majority of the album. Times where I’m having fun with my family, or where I feel so isolated that I pretend I’m in the womb— they wrap up in a time capsule held underwater. There’s a juxtaposition between emotions that I tried to emulate as well, with all the mood swings I had as a child because of ‘circumstances.’ The haziness and faded senses of nostalgia linger, with bursts of childish whimsy. Each “day” is different— same start, different progression— and I’d like to keep it that way. Overall, I’m proud of my past and present self, and am wishing my future self a very special good luck!
Project 365: Day 93 of 365
Two good friends of mine are currently deployed serving our country. I'm putting together care packages to send to both of them. One of the items in their packages will be American flags made by the kindergartners at my mom's school. You've just got to love their handy work. I'm sure they'll bring some smiles to some troops who need it.
Thanks LTJG Lindsey Sinnett (Navy) and SSgt Bret Armstrong (Air Force) for all that y'all do. Miss you both. Stay safe and hope to see you both very soon!
Day 128 - December 25, 2009
Santa Claus Week 2009
Chistmas Week 2009!
MERRY CHRISTMAS!!!
This is a Santa Claus cup that I found while visiting my parents for Thanksgiving, pefect for Santa week!
Another major section in DJ's cookbook is on main ingredients used throughout the book. Fresh ground pepper is one of his favorite. This is a sample image from that section -- the pepper grinder (the only brand he would buy: Professional Atlas).
Rotary Club of Kalyan Riverside had donated sitting mats and Tables & Chairs to Primary School at Village Barave, Kalyan on 17 Aug, 2009. President Rtn Dinesh Pandya addressed the geathering.
I have just two children and one day when looking at my Faceboook account, I noticed both of them had clicked "Like" on Facebook. It's funny because they do not look alike, act alike, have the same philosophies, etc. Yet, here they are on one line on my Facebook and probably only proud mama noticed. (Yes, I smudged names to protect the guilty.)
Project 366-1 (2010) September 27, 2010 270/365
Our next-door neighbor is a World War II Navy veteran. He and his wife went to Washington D.C. last week with a group of other veterans. This sign appeared on their lawn yesterday. I cropped his name off the bottom. Down the right side it says "21st NE Iowa US Navy."
I tried a different idea on a shell that i thought might look good on a white perspex background. Unfortunately it hasn't worked as planned as I was aiming for a nice deep reflection. Still a nice shell though.
Such a good dog, waiting for the command before eating that dog biscuit. It occurs to me that you will see a lot of Lucy as this project progresses and she is my most handy and obedient model.
This is shot with a white wall and a piece of white tile board on the floor pushed up to the wall. The dog and the background where lit separately here. The background is 1.5 stops brighter than the dog. The dog is light with a large softbox to the left of me to create the catch light.
