The steam train that we saw yesterday in Ashburton is now in Arthur's Pass. It is on a tour of the South Island.

I was searching for a new DOC geocache at the Welcome sign at the start of town when a car pulled up. I assumed the driver was a fellow geocacher but he asked "has the train gone through?" So Jae and I went to the station to wait for it to arrive.

Took this photo early in the morning. I was luck this came out clear with the shutter set on 250/sec and I was walking at the same time. Quite like all the different ways people keep themselves warm in this photo.

What is it Petey?

I hope that you enjoy it ;)

Some things in life seem so insignificant like they wouldn’t make a difference to anyone and so we leave them undone or unsaid. We hold back for fear of being seen as foolish. And yet I wonder how many opportunities to make an impact in someone’s life are missed. It’s like a penny walked by and left lying on the ground because we think it is of no worth. So next time you see a penny lying on the ground pick it up and think about the kind word or kind gesture you can pass on to someone who might just need a little encouragement to get them through the day.

Couple things about me:

1. I’m feeling very repetitive typing the above line day after day, though I do try and change it up a bit. Anyway something about me…I’m really tired of trying to think about things to write about me…hmm…though I like to have a neat house, house cleaning is not one of my favourite things to do, I’d rather be outside, though ever now and then I get in the mood to really clean, but that’s a rarity :)

2. I have three siblings, one older brother and two younger sisters.

My monthly theme for Project 365 is anything geocaching related. I didn't go caching this month and I didn't have any inspiration for a photo today, so I snapped this geocaching pathtag.

Thursday, 31st August 2017.

Was walking up to work today and there was the most intense sun reflection off the street buildings. I took a photo hopping that the figures wouldn’t be over exposed by the sun reflection. To my luck they weren’t, and as a result I love this image, the intense angles of the shadows and building structures framing the photo. All these elements add that little bit more to the image overall, hope you like it.

Osprey in nest. Calling for her mate who was flying overhead but too wary to land since I was so close.

What I presume is the used air compressor waiting for what's next.

Project 7x52, week 20

Theme: Horses ::sigh::

I firmly believe that any hour spent in the company of horses is time very well spent. I was fortunate to spend Saturday in New Hampshire watching the amazing Steuart Pittman school OTTBs, Standardbreds and interested riders. The array of horses--from Connemaras to a beautiful retired Thoroughbred, The Tempest (who raced as Unbridled's Jewel) was great fun for this horsey girl.

A perfectly sunny afternoon, beautiful horses, and great company made for an ideal day.
