I shot this of my little boy and I through the window of my garage door. My intention was to capture our silhouettes in shadow.

Smile! This is my niece, every time I see her she always wants me to take pictures. This picture explains who I am because I always look to grab those exciting moments in time.
This is my controlled blur photo. It's a photo of the sun peeking through my fingers. I lowered my f stop so it could capture the light and the color of my hand. I tried a few shots with an increased f stop, but it didn't capture the blur at all and made it look like I took a picture of a hole in the ceiling. I shot this on my 50mm manual focus. I focused to the sky and the leaves above me and covered the lens with my fingers to get this shot.

This photo demonstrates panning. Freeman reminds us that, although off-center pictures are valuable, centered images are still very much a striking composition. I liked the flowers in the center because I was intrigued by the diamond-type shape the bouquet created. I brought down the shadows slightly and converted the image to black and white in post-processing,

Description of what your intent was: Simulate a photo of a driving brochure underground parking garage shot of a Kia Soul.
4. Use of Shallow DOF
Intention: Capture a shallow depth of field where there is a very narrow area of focus.
Reading: The reading indicates that a large aperture is necessary for capturing a shallow DOF.
Edit: Eliminated red/orange flecks by changing them to green using hue/saturation adjustments.
Outcome: Successful capture of shallow DOF where the focus is positioned along the rule of thirds with proper exposure.
Another shot of my "Studio". This shows how I try and keep myself organized but always seem to fail.

What I wanted to get out of this picture was the straight line of the neck of the guitar and the stings and a little but of the curvature of the body.
