The new Fairmont Pacific Rim rises next to the Marine Building.

This building was put up back in 1989...22 years ago, in building years...it was still quite "young". I can only imagine the property value went way up as this is right across the street from the Richmond Olympic Oval...and you guessed it...they're building condos...Progress!

Progress: kitchen and ladder – the walls have been plastered and papered. Not long now! Just a shame the very nice flooring wasn't protected properly. Repairs cost a lot of time...

Küche und Malerleiter – die Wände sind gegipst und mit fester Unterlagstapete versehen. Bald ist es soweit!

I've lost about 14 pounds since October, which means I'm down to 171. Still not what I'd like to weigh, but getting better.

Don't normally keep shots like these that are out of focus. But I am glad I kept this one. Because the building with the big glass front the Security Annex was one of the old mercantile edition that was torn down for the new current Merc development. forgot what nikon film camera I was using on this.

Chennai wants to be an IT hub. This is part of the stretch that's called the "IT Park". It disturbs me that building glassed, monolithic structures is equated with progress. Note the garbage strewn around.

My first impression when I saw all the glassed IT buildings was fear. I felt like the Borg had landed and was starting to assimilate the ignorant masses.

That feeling is getting stronger as I realize that this is what India sees as its future. I'm hoping to find people who concur that this is sheer idiocy.

I'm making a series of ceremonial sashes in the colors of the seven traditional planets. These photos show various stages in the organization and assembly of the pieces the pale blue is for the Moon, purple for Jupiter, red for Mars, and orange for Mercury. The sashes for Venus, the Sun and for Saturn will likely have to wait until I have money for fabric again.
