After the S7000, I tried my hardest to obtain another Fuji that could cope with the hammering I'd given the first one.

Fujifilm came up with a new model, an S9000 (9500 in the US, I think) and I promptly ordered one. It didn't last long. I was very disappointed, and sent it back. I tried a couple of others, and they all exhibited similarly fuzzy pics.

Fuji have since replaced this model with a newer one which I'm told doesn't have the problem, but in the meantime I'd given up, and settled on this: A Panasonic Lumix FZ-30. This did everything the S7000 had, upped the resolution to 8mpixels, and had an equivalent to a 28-430mm zoom. I never regretted the choice. Very nice piece of equipment.

You can imagine my surprise when my wife replaced it AGAIN, yesterday...

i put a memory here. scratched on the surface of utility. i deposit a brief bit of my lifetime upon the stone, invest lines with a spark of will. i leave myself on the surface. i here i tie my energy with light and shadow to this image until it is erased by progress or neglect. this is all art, a universal drive to mark the blank space, to trace the single cry that says I Am, I Was, remember Me and this moment in the beyond.
