This seat is on the "Desire" streetcar—that is, the one used in "A Streetcar Named Desire", and one of the streetcars that rolled through the "Desire District" in New Orleans. Our host at the Trolley Museum explained to us that the little holes you see were actually a sort of flag; if the peg was up, it was for "coloured people" to sit in, and all the seats without the peg up were for white people.
Rather stunningly remarkable, to someone my age especially. Can you imagine? Obviously we all know this sort of thing was common, but every time I'm reminded of it or confronted by it it's a shock.
Thankfully, today in America, any person of any race can sit wherever they like. That, my friends, is real progress.
I took the left photo back in 2008 and this left photo was taken now in 2010.
Since the beginning of this past summer of 09' I started to take better care of myself and watch what I eat and exercise, Since the photo on the left I've dropped 15lbs, by watching my portions and cycling. I'm currently keeping weight at 129lbs which is just off from my college wrestling weight of 125 back in 2007.
I haven't reach my goal of weight yet of making 125 again but it's winter and well I've just been lazy, haha. A new spring will be here soon and I'll be back to training on the road bike pushing the miles soon.

The beginnings of a now finished lace neck cuff using gooorgeous hand dyed merino wool from Wabi Sabi Yarns!
Pattern will be available in another week or so. Still refining it. The difference (of course) between puffy in progress lace and sleek, blocked lace is mindboggling. :)

The watercolour abstracts in progress. My attempt at taking an arty art picture, but was too hot and bothered to really try.
In Honor of Alibubba's last day of her 365 I decided to do a copycat/tribute to her today.
Congrats Alibubba on finishing your 365. You have had a wonderful year full of amazing photos.. You are very inspiring. I chose work in progress to copycat because it is very symbolic of how I feel about my life at this present time.
There is something watching me!!
I am so pissed right now. Flickr has fucked up all of my tags. I have been sitting here fixing them and then realized there are so many fucked up that there is no point in attempting to fix them. For some reason when I was organizing my 365 folder it joined all my tags together into one tag on majority of my photos in my 365. So freaking aggravating. Guess its time for bed.
The lily is a photograph I took a couple years ago. I think it's pretty awesome to have one of my photos tattooed on my skin :)
