Beach at Progress Valley, Catlins, New Zealand,

It has been a long time since I have seamed a sweater.

I only cursed once!

Neil's work and some of mine. Hopefully within a week or so this will be ready for molding and casting.

Sick of having to wire up pin headers every time I needed to program in-circuit, I made a six-pin to DIP adapter. Huzzah for hot glue.

Looking better, can't wait to get some Yellow put on!

I found this piece of patchwork this morning when I was trying to tidy up the crafty corner of my sitting room. One day I'll back it with wadding and fabric, and quilt it all ... maybe add a nice binding too ...

Yes, the mythical 'one day' that we all imagine when we've lots of time, and an endless supply of tea and chocolate biscuits.

a building i've been walking past on my way to work. i'm enthralled by demolition.

UNICEF Australia "Almost 15 years ago the global community resolved to build a more just and prosperous world by committing to the Millennium Development Goals: Five ways the world has achieved #progress for #children since 1990: 1) 46 million fewer children are missing out on their right to an #education. 2) The global rate of stunting has been reduced by 41%. 3) 2.6 billion more people have access to improved drinking water. 4) Half as many children are dying before their fifth birthday. 5) 900 million fewer people are living in absolute #poverty. Together we've taken immense strides forward but we must ensure that future progress includes #EVERYchild – that opportunity reaches even the world’s most disadvantaged and marginalised children." #UNICEF #MDGs #SDGs #ChildRights #HappyAndFreeKids #kids #family #smile #happiness #water #Australia

In 1992, children all over the country were suspended from schools for wearing Bart Simpson t-shirts that said "Underachiever and proud of it".

True story.

It has been so hot that it's hard to get to good shots. Some were taken in the mid afternoon and some in the evening. Just documenting the progress of the garden for the midseason point for the year.

Sumatra isn't the tourist magnet it once was, twenty years ago. But we loved travelling on this vast and green Indonesian island. So much to see, such beautiful nature and so many friendly people.

We had our share of bad roads, clouds and rain too, but hey: it was the wet season.
