Volcano book, 32 inches high. The center part is an accodion fold book, there are two "wings" on the sides that have the palm trees and other landscapey bits. It folds down to 18 inches wide. It's made of Davey board. I cut it with a jeweler's saw, and hinged it with cloth hinges. At this stage it's painted with black gesso. I need to collage on it now. I'm blogging about the process of making this group of books here.
It has been so hot that it's hard to get to good shots. Some were taken in the mid afternoon and some in the evening. Just documenting the progress of the garden for the midseason point for the year.
This is being built on our block. We still can't work out how the hell they a) keep lifting the crane up, and b) how they get it down again.

progress on the studio--swept + de-cluttered desk. in case you don't remember, it looked like this a few days ago.
The MV Vectis Progress is a general cargo vessel built in 2012 and operated by Carisbrooke Shipping under the Isle of Man flag. Measuring nearly 124 meters in length, it features two 80-ton cranes and can carry up to 484 containers, offering flexible cargo handling capabilities across a wide range of ports and conditions.
A key feature of the vessel is its ice-class 1A certification, allowing it to safely navigate ice-covered waters.
Logically I should have put the first one on the left but I didn't realise until I'd got them lined up nicely. suppose I could have flipped it. Never mind.
The three pics are all obviously the same doll but as you can see there is insane variation in the colour the resin shows up in the photo. The sanded area doesn't look anywhere near as bad irl, in artificial light, anyway.
Aesthetically I think I do like no.2 best. Should I have stopped there? Maybe. But I regret nothing.
The old lady is beginning to look good, I love the contrast against the modern colour stained timber buildings.

I'm actually trying my hand at crazy mom quilts 'flea market fancy' quilt. These blocks will have white sashing in between them but even together they would look lovely!
