Louisville, Colorado. So long beautiful grassland. It's time to replace you with over-sized houses, asphalt, and watered lawns. Ryland is building these homes.
It makes me think of what Agent Smith said in the Movie The Matrix:
I'd like to share a revelation I've had during my time here. It came to me when I tried to classify your species. I realized that you're not actually mammals. Every mammal on this planet instinctively develops a natural equilibrium with their surrounding environment, but you humans do not. You move to an area, and you multiply, and you multiply, until every natural resource is consumed. The only way you can survive is to spread to another area. There is another organism on this planet that follows the same pattern. Do you know what it is? A virus. Human beings are a disease, a cancer of this planet. You are a plague, and we … are the cure.

Been visiting my old home town over the Easter break. It was lovely to see so much effort, money and resources poured into town. Everywhere I looked in the town center, buildings were being cleaned up and the place was looking more respectable than I've ever seen it. There seemed to be a sense of civic pride that I'd not detected before. Even on the outskirts, former slums are being torn down and replaced by new housing estates that really seem to change the whole feel of the place.
But unfortunately you don't have to go too far to find the places that are forgotten by the town planners. This picture was taken in a part of West Yorkshire that has suffered its fair share of problems as long as I can remember. From my recent glimpse at the place it seems that some things are slow to change....
