The North Charleston Police Department implemented Project S.T.A.N.D (Stop and Take A New Direction) aimed at not just arresting low level narcotics dealers with little or no prior criminal history but to go a step further and help those involved in the activity change their lives for the better. This is program aimed at reducing recidivism through working on all aspects of the criminals’ lives.
This project was the focus of a Dateline NBC special entitled “Intersection” which aired on March 14, 2013.

The Recreation program office is located in the Annex Building, located at the end of Loop Road below the Undergraduate Building. Here, you can sign up for fun trips and workshops and rent equipment for an outdoor adventure.

The FIU Accounting Bridge program is a 2-day summer program for selected college-bound students. During the 2 days participants will have the opportunity to meet professionals who studied in accounting and now have lucrative, secure, and fascinating jobs.
I was inspired by the logo for the Milwaukee Bicycle Co. to create a new logo for the Bike Program.
It's not official or anything. I was just having fun playing around in Illustrator (and AutoCAD for the technical elements).
Of course, for those not familiar with the city, it's heavily based on the municipal flag of Chicago.

Thailand's 100 Percent Condom Program has been one of the world's most successful condom promotion campaigns. The program goal was to make condom use universal among CSWs. If a client refused to use a condom, the CSW was supposed to refuse sex and to return the money. The government closed brothels that did not abide by the program.

The CGIAR Research Program on Climate Change, Agriculture and Food Security (CCAFS) East Africa is working with partners to empower communities in lower Nyando manage climate risk. Agro-forestry, land and water management are among the mitigation interventions employed to reduce greenhouse gas emissions in Nyando basin. So far, 22 tree nurseries, some owned by self-help groups (more than half of all the nurseries are female-owned). More than 50,000 high-quality tree seedlings have been produced, each worth KSh10-20. The Fall 2010 Student Hackathon brought in hundreds of students from 30 universities to NYU's Courant Institute for 24 hours of creative hacking on New York City startups' APIs.
Selected startups presented their technologies at the beginning of the event, and students formed groups to brainstorm and begin coding on their ideas. Many students worked into the night, foregoing sleep to fulfill their visions.
On Sunday afternoon students presented their projects to an audience including a judging panel, which selected the final winners.
hackNY hosts hackathons one each semester, as well as a Summer Fellows Program, which pairs quantitative and computational students with startups which can demonstrate a strong mentoring environment, a problem for a student to work on, a person to mentor them, and a place for them to work. Startups selected to host a student are expected to compensate student Fellows. Students enjoy free housing together and a pedagogical lecture series to introduce them to the ins and outs of joining and founding a startup.

Eye to Eye is a series of private gallery tours of Christopher Wool led by contemporary artists that invite visitors to learn from the perspectives of current practitioners.
In this tour, artist and former studio assistant of Christopher Wool, Josh Smith, discussed the works on view in Christopher Wool and shared his perspectives on the creative process. A reception with a cash bar followed the tour.

As Moby writes, the bill restoring funding has passed and the governor has indicated he will sign it (see dist08.casen.govoffice.com for more info)
But it still would be helpful to contact him asking him to sign SB3x13 and to make sure there is long term funding for domestic violence prevention programs (this is just a temporary measure for this year)
