Built for Andromeda's Gates on Eurobricks. I went with a function over form mentality for this build, as the processing plant actually works. You can fill the hopper, then open the trapdoor to let gold down onto the conveyor belt, which in turn is used to fill the dump truck. See it in action here: www.youtube.com/watch?v=TM0qFY4JgKE

Quick idea for the Order Of Magnitude homepage sketched out on my custom wireframe template.

Processed this but never uploaded it. I liked the sky so much I thought I should post it. Im not shooting very much anymore, its just not the same.
Just got back from a trip to Texas. My brother got married (yay!) and had a wonderful time with my family. These were not taken on this trip - these are from my trip in May. I posted a similar one back then but this is just a longer exposure. I had really good light that morning!
I will be stopping by everyone's stream in the next few days and catch up - I still need to get caught up around my house/work! Hope everyone is having a great week!
Proof of concept for another kind of mosaic involving 2 kinds of tiles, randomly shuffled.
I first read about this years ago, in a column or book by Martin Gardner, A.K. Dewdney, Douglas Hofstadter or Clifford Pickover. Or maybe somewhere else, but probably one of those four... My idols. :)
Generated procedurally in processing.--

One more test of the Topaz AI tools, this time with the superb C905, whose 8Mp camera is probably the best I've had, even after all smart(er) generations.
Same workflow as in previous examples, final enlargement to 32 Mp (not a huge jump starting form 8). Some overprocessing was done to prove the TIFF withstands abuse without degradation, otherwise the original is better and I wouldn't do this to it :)
I had a great day today. I had a fair-size list of things that I wanted to get done today and managed to get them all (and a few others) done.
Onlookers often wonder why I put so much effort into some of the things I do. Sometimes I enjoy the process as much as I enjoy the finished product.
What you're seeing here is the slow-poaching method from David Chang's Momofuku. Essentially; slow-cooked in their shells, when cracked, are a perfectly poached egg with incredible textures and flavor.
I think eggs are so incredible. They are quite simple in appearance but are quite impressive when you start to break it down chemically.
When I get them right, the outer white is soft and creamy. The best part is the yolk when it becomes a gel. I find the yolk to be the best part about a cooked egg. When that golden yellow nucleus of of joy turns to gel and becomes spreadable, toast becomes a prized commodity.
The thing I like the best about this shot is how the water distorts the view of the eggs. In this case it actually makes them easier to see. That is what made me pick up my camera and get this shot.
